Can I just set the record straight on one thing, Martin O'Neil is not a Sunderland supporter, his favorite player was Charlie Hurley and that is why he followed Sunderland. I attended a Celtic talk in as a guest of a Celtic supporter and i actually asked him if he was a Sunderland supporter, his team is actually his home town team of Distillery.

When Hurley moved to Bolton Wanderers then any allegiance O'Neil had to Sunderland moved to Bolton.

He could take us to another level, however Bruce can do that - he did it for much of the season lest we forget - injuries and the sale of Bent did for us.

Bruce is still learning his trade, if we go on another run next year then that is the time for him to go.

nice article mate just one gripe, if hes still learning the trade he shouldnt be our manager, we need a top grade ready made experience one for us to push on

SB has learnt his trade mate he's been managing PL clubs for the last 6 or 7 years and if he hasn't learnt anything now he never will. This is his team he has brought in after last years excuses after the 14 game winless streak of well the team is mostly Keanes, so now he blames the fans the refs (fair enough but not lately) or injuries.

As for MON I'm not sure he is the man for the job a good manager there is no doubt about that but has he been out of the game too long?
Another thing we are all forgetting is that he had a bust up with Randy Lerner at Villa who is an American hedge fund billionaire and very friendly with our own Ellis Short. For that reason I don't think we'll be seeing him on the sidelines doing his best Cloughie impression.

Asamoah Dance, I think you'll find it was a 50/50 split on whether to drop Henderson when you said as I was one who agreed with you. Chill out mate have a dance like your namesake we all want SAFC to do well and we all have our little pops at whoever on here which is where we should be doing it and not as I've witnessed many time on the terraces. If this is what a bad run does to us just think of the passion that will flow when we put a good run together.

2-0 today and 3 points should have us all together for a massive group hug.

Sunderland is the biggest club Bruce has managed, therefore he will still be learning how to manage a club like ours, the over inflated expectations of some supporters and having funds at his disposal.

Errors have been made by Bruce(in his choice of some purchases), the board in selling Bent & the supporters for attacking players like Jones, Higginbotham, & Whitehead and effectively driving them out of the club, however they have had the last laugh with a trip to Wembley.( I prepare to be flamed for this) - which just proves my point even more about some Sunderland supporters - knee jerkers.

Infact, there was criticism of Bent on these boards when Gyan and Welbeck were doing well, sometimes you should be careful for what you wish, you might just get what you want.
