I meant why are we being linked with left backs. Plus we know that the Buttner situation was a real enquiry.

I personally would be happy letting Shaw come through but if Adkins see's it as a weakness then I would not disagree.

I think we will bring in 3 players at the very least next week and everyone will be happy again.

I don't know. Why were we being linked to Goodwillie, Mackie and Leon Best? We didn't need any more strikers.

I don't think any of those were true, I think they were media speculation although I do think Mackie would fit the right sided attacking role. We are clearly not looking for a target man.

Appreciate thats just my opinion though.

I thnk we could probably do with a striker if I'm honest, didn't look dangerous at all yesterday.

Agree that we didn't look dangerous, but I'm not sure if another striker is the answer. I'm very confident that Lambert will score at this level (and I'm pretty confident that Jay will score at this level), but I don't think we had the right players and/or system yesterday to enable him to do just that.

Given an attacking signing or two out wide this week, and maybe an alteration or two to the formation, and I think Adkins will get it right before too long - and when it is, I really do think Lambert will flourish.

We have enough strikers, and enough midfielders too.

Just wingers and CBs that we need now.

Then we can review in January how well we are doing and where we can improve.

no chance of Ince or Phillips, they would cost more than we could afford at the moment. still sticking that I think we could need another striker.

What we can afford is relative. For a player like Ramirez, £12m is a steal. For Phillips or Ince, it would be a lot of money.

He's right, Blackpool don't need to sell them so it would take crazy money to get either of them.

But we don't know that yet?, it's football anything can happen.

Ince and Phillips are more than we can afford because Blackpool don't need or want to sell them. Whether we bid €12,000,000 for Ramirez is irrelevant to whether we could afford Ince or Phillips. We would have to overpay in a large way to get them.

What I have noticed in the last two games is that we haven't really had a quick and quality escape route when we are under pressure. Someone with pace and trickery to transform defence into attack all by himself is what we need.

Correct , but saving money to keep us in this League will not work at all , at least QPR and Norwich are going for it , Sunderland have signed overpriced players but you have to , he is in for a rude shock if he thinks he can hardball some of these clubs .

Cortese knows what he is doing.

Definitely reckon we should be having another look at Biglia from Anderlect.

Quality player who sits deep and offers good protection to The defence but can also create, may allow Scneiderlin a bit more freedom too!

Biglia available at 6 million...bit of a bargain!!

Think we may be involved in deadline day quite heavily this year, should be exciting. I reckon we could see 2 or 3 come in on Friday alone.

We don't really need another striker. A winger or 2 and a willingness to rotate the front 3 to change the style but keep the shape would suit perfectly. Lambert isn't the sort of striker who will hang on the shoulder and pounce onto a through ball. If we find ourselves needing one of those, we can't go 442 because we'll get overrun in the middle. I'd suggest laying out a plan B as such:

-----------------Davis------------------
Clyne-----Fonte-----Hooiveld-----Fox
-----------Davis-----Morgan-----------
----------------Lallana------------------
Lambert---------------------Rodriguez
----------------Sharp-------------------

Lambert isn't a winger I know, but he has to be there if we want his influence, the man on the shoulder AND keep our shape. It's a similar situation with Rodriguez on the wing because Lambert is central. Could equally work with Rodriguez central and someone else wide. Lambert is clever enough to make up a yard of pace and he'd have support from Clyne. Lambert isn't the typical fluid 433 player and it will take some creative tactics to fit him in.
