Heard the recording, problem for me is,,,,,, How can this geezer say the game would have gone ahead at Reading? the decission to cancel is the refs, plus both managers, I think the reading manager was being led by the interviewer, up to a point.
Its still a bit of an embarrassment though Mons as its a brand new pitch. What happens when the snow comes in 2 or 4 months time? Whoever laid the pitch and created the problem should be hauled over the coals imo.

From what I'm led to believe, it was a raging storm, that's nobodies fault mate, it happens.
Gives us a nice winnable home game in hand, and means AJ doesn't have to miss a game.
I'm fine with it (although it's a shame the players didn't get the buzz of the crowd).
If the outside drains are flooded mate the grounds drains that feed into them are going to get backed up. We did have a long period of rain.
Got no idea about the drainage layout, but could they not feed straight into the Wear?
Or is that not allowed?
Adrian Durham is just the scum of the broadcasting world. Him and that thick **** Gough are a huge turn off and in fact if it were not for Hawksby and Jacobs (best show on radio imo) I'd NEVER listen to the ****e low intelligence radio station.

This.........This should not have happened. Yes, it had been raining heavy for a few hours, but the pitch should have coped with it. I suspect that Ellis will go balistic over this and if I was head groundsman I'd be a very worried man. This should NOT be happening at a premier league ground. If the drainage system is piss poor, where is plan B?....where are the covers?
I've a feeling that the PL will not look too kindly on this and that we could be in for a hefty fine.
What about Chelsea they were a hairs breadth from being call off.
It was just the rain easing off before hand that let it go ahead by all accounts.
Their weather forecast was for the rain to return about 7 with thunder and lightening.
Like our ref said our forecast was for the rain to continue till 9 at night.
I don't buy that for a minute. Pre-kickoff rain is no excuse to call off a game. It's the clubs responsibility to make sure the pitch is playable. It takes half a dozen ball-boys 10 seconds to cover the court at Wimbledon. My question, and I'm sure Ellis Short's question, is "Where were the covers?"
But what I'm saying is if it continued to rain at Chelsea they would have been called off.
This isn't just a Sunderland problem.
I'm not fussed about Chelsea...but SAFC ****ed up big time with this postponement.

STFU arsehole. All it needed was for the pitch to be covered when it started pissing down. Is that too difficult for you to comprehend?
Covers....you know...the ones that conference teams use because they can't afford expensive drainage systems.
