Great though he was in the 2nd half of last season it would appear that Clint is so off the pace now that he is a liability. I would now think that no stone will be left unturned to bring in one or even two centre-backs this week and that Clint may possibly be loaned out before the deadline. I'm still not convinced we've sewn up the left back spot either, Fabio and Traore seem to forget that the job description is principally defending...

With only Ferdy, Onouha, Nelsen, Clint and hopefully A.N.Other to cover two vital bases going forward, there's no way we should even be thinking of putting Hill out to grass. Suspensions and injuries are a major risk and even if he's dropped for the time being, there's every chance he'll be back in the mix pretty quickly.

Okay, so he didn't manage Holt very well today - but GH is deliberately that particularly awkward kind of player. Let's stop looking at Hill's age and imagining he's past his sell by. Heart and experience shows he's still very much a prospect.

we wouldn't be still in the premiership only for hills endless mom performances last season. ffs some people have short memories!!

Felt sorry for him when he got the card, Holt had just fallen right on top of him.

That's Holt all over. He's a pain in the arse forward and has done a job on many a defender over the years. Don't like him, but he does a job!!

Totally agree, the fact that Hill had slippery fat boy Holt to deal with coupled with the fact Traore gave him zero support must be taken into account. Now that said Clint did not have one of his best performances but I counted 3 times he covered for Ferdiand 2 times for Fabio and countless times for Traore and to rub salt into the wound the twat of a commentator seemed to diss him as well.

Should be kept as he is a good squad player and as Brix says we will need as the season wears on.

Covering for others is part of his job, he was off the pace and given a torrid time by Holt and fortunate to stay on...

A bit unfair to single out Hill today, Holt was his usual cheating self and Traore was just plain awful, add to that Ferdinand being his all too familiar dodgy self. Hill didn't do too badly in my opinion

Although Hill is obviously getting a bit passed it, he proved last year that he's certainly good enough. He hasn't changed as a player....still slow etc. I think he is being made a bit of a scapegoat on here and I would definitely keep him for this season!!

With all the experts we have why have we never come up with a plan to stop Holt. be backs into players and grabs shirts and Clint fell for it.

Anyone betting that one of ours gets sent off at LR.

We need 'a cunning plan'.

Yes it is but to single him out is unfair at least he was in the thick of it I could single out 7 players who put little or no effort into the game, so are we going to put them out on loan to?

The prospect of dropping, or even loaning out, one of the few players in the team who shows some desire to play for Rangers seems absured to me. We definitely need to sign a CB, or two, but Hill can still do a job as a squad player. Hill isn't the first player I'd be looking to to explain Norwich's domination today.

He was never that good, overachieved last season and was never POTY. Shouldnt have got a new contract.

An average NPC defender at best. he shouldnt even be on the bench. Nice guy, tries hard etc but should not play.
