Seen the replay and its Vidic at fault. Also how was Hangaland not sent off? Was a yellow every day of the week to be fair.
Imagine if that was a United player. The abu's would be fuming but silence when it's an opposition player.
Why oh why has giggs come on for anderson? Dembele will rape our midfield now as it has 1 actual central midfielder.
All in all a great win, first half far better than the 2nd but 3 points and some very good play from us. Cant wait for our defence to be back though.
Deserved win but we made it hard for our selves when Fulham scored ther second goal and did think at the time that Fulham would get the equaliser.
No its quite clearly vidic who makes the error. Look again, vidic is behind his man which means he is never going to be able to clear it away so De gea has to come. he wasnt convincing but had Vidic been in front of his man as you would expect then De Gea doesnt even need to be involved. I suppose we could say Vidic's error caused De Gea to make an error
After watching the replay, I disagree. It looks like De Gea calls for it and Vidic attempts to move out of the way and then De Gea gets pushed out of the way by Petric. Once Vidic and De Gea can get used to communicating I think we'll be ok. Vidic was spoiled with Van Der Saar at the back, dude was great at commanding and organizing the back 4.
Ive only seen the original and the first replay, at first thought it was all de gea but on second look he seems to do little wrong. To me it looks like Vidic knows he should of done better.
The BBC website messed up on all the league tables and gave teams extra points and showed more games played lol. As for the match, United looked really good for long periods of the first half. Van Persie's goal was real class. But they showed their usual frailties at the back. Fulham's second goal was a joke and all De Gea's fault - he just didn't come for the cross and it went in off Vidic's heel. United ended up inching over the line. But at least it's a win under their belt. BTW Kagawa is a gem! Effortless on the ball and shows great awareness. Bob
Bit of both imo. As soon as De Gea called for the cross Petric just tried to get in his way and made no effort to play the ball. At that point Vidic should just have cleared the ball with his head. De Gea should have come for the ball stronger, but Vidic needed to either stick to the man or clear the ball and has done neither. I think Vidic is a bit wary of De Gea at the moment - not very used to him and concerned about his aerial ability. Vidic was paying more attention to the striker and the keeper than the ball and so got out of position when if he'd just watched the cross it would have been a simple header to clear with the striker nowhere near the ball. Hopefully they will build a better rapport after a few more games - Vidic has only just come back from injury and didn't play that much with De Gea last season, so it's almost like we are back to square one with the defence this year. If Evans or one of the other CBs are back next weekend I think communication and understanding will be a lot better.
