Surrey - I support my local team
Our trip to OT on Saturday was already worth looking forward to, given the good 5-0 win (sorry MOTD, I forgot we didn't win - Norwich just gave us the points) under our belts and nothing to lose by going for it.

Now United have just lost at Everton, so Fergie will be working overtime in the next few days to ensure they get a win - So maybe some silly offer for Dembele just to rock the boat? Better not!

Roll on Saturday. Shame I can't go - Gentleman Jim beckons.

I hope we go for it, I'm expecting us to lose (nobody likes to play United after they lose) but if we give it some it'll be worth it!

Still can't find him on the new website Gera. Hopefully it will be all right on the night.

Alternatively there is a PC link which should work (I watched tonight's Everton v ManU game on it) - atdhenet.tv

More ineptitude from Lawro.

Manchester United are still trying to integrate their new players into their team.

The fuss and furore over Robin van Persie and the 20 minutes he played against Everton on Monday night was unbelievably over the top because it will take him time to get to know his new team-mates and how they play.

Much was made of United's defeat against the Toffees, but that was always going to be a really tough fixture, especially in a night game at Goodison Park and in the first game of the season.

A weekend home game against Fulham is a completely different proposition, although Fulham had an excellent opening-day win at home over Norwich.

People are asking questions about where all United's attacking players will fit in but I am not sure Sir Alex Ferguson will be too bothered. He knows he has so many good players, who are versatile enough to play anywhere across the frontline.

It is at the back they are a bit short at the moment, although I hear Jonny Evans might be fit by Saturday.

To be honest, though, I cannot see the United defence being worked too hard, no matter who is in it.

Of far more concern to Ferguson will be getting the attacking side of things right. They need to play with the same sort of width we have come to expect from United in recent years and, if they do, I cannot see Fulham stopping them.

Prediction: 3-0

All that blurb on United, who lost, and half a sentence for Fulham, who won 5-0. He then goes on to say United's defence probably won't be troubled, and gives a prediction of a 3-0 drubbing. What a dipshit! What is that based on? I'm happy for us to be the underdogs, but it doesn't half piss me off when we're just an afterthought. We'd literally have to win the Champions League before the BBC bother to learn anything about our club.

Ah ha, there is a more reliable predictor about. The redoubtable George Co-hen of Cottage Chickens has it the other way round - Fulham to win 3-0

The chickens jogged my memory about a dog at Old Trafford (don't ask) and after a root around the loft found what I was looking for -

The pooch may have earned ManU a point in that game but in the actual match the programme is from, Graham Leggat scored a hat-trick to earn us a 3-3 draw.

Omen ?? Come on Kaca !!!

Bidders, don't worry about it ol friend. You should be used to it by now.
Personally I think we'll cause them problems, I really believe our midfield matches theirs at the moment, it'll be tight and we must press and close them down quickly and really get it up 'em! They won't like it one bit. If we draw I'll be pleased, if we sneak a 3-0 win I'll be exstatic!!<whistle>

Everton beating Utd was the worst thing that could have happened to us really. Man Utd do not lose two games in a row. i remember last season when Utd lost at home to Blackburn 2-3, they smashed Wolves the next week 5-0. I don't think it will be a hammering, but 3-0 isn't an outrageous prediction.

I can't help it! Lawro is an accomplished wum! :D

But Lawro offers no basis for this! He's simply dismissed us out of hand! I agree it's not entirely out of the realms of possibility that we will lose, but the facts are there for all to see, and for once it looks quite rosy. I wouldn't have a problem with the prediction but he doesn't give any reasoning, he just talks about United and says they'll steamroller us, despite them having not scored a goal yet! Even if he said what you said just now I wouldn't have a problem! I should give you my license fee!

Bah!

A report on the Man U website said that AF could not have wished for a better
home game to start the season than Fulham,as there, record at Old Trafford is atrocious.
This time tomorrow we can judge and analyse.

Man u will win 6-0 tomorrow as sir alex and rooney will be hurting after everton stuffed a 1-0 win over us.
Would of prefered a proper match instead of having to play a pub team but hopefully the referee will not allow your kickers to kick us off the park.
Enjoy your relegation battle as surely the time has come to rid the premiership of ****e little no hopers like fulham.
I wonder if you will manage to scrape together 10 fans at old trafford tomorrow.
You really are ****e and dont deserve to play at the theater of dreams.

Man u the peoples religion and the biggest and besy sporting club in the world.

forgot to mention, everpoo are always ****e before Christmas and even worse in August so it will be effortless.
Moyes does not have a clue how to get teams ready for a new season, maybe the players rip his instructions up after Christmas.

Sorry about this guy.

You do have a poor record at Old Trafford, and with our scoring record at home, I really only see one outcome tomorrow. Although I'm sure you'll make it a game.

Thanks, Manobear. To be honest, I was impressed that he's learned how to type and (almost) spell correctly. Walking upright is probably next on his to-do list. We're happy just to ignore drivel like his.

I think we've got a chance today. When a team of our size plays a Champions League team, the odds are that we lose, but we've beaten all of the big teams in the last few years and we're on good form so there's a chance. Most of our wins against you have come at the Cottage rather than Old Trafford, but none of that is carved in stone. As I've said elsewhere, I think if we play our natural, attacking game rather than an over-cautious one we've got a chance. If we get beat, even by a wide margin, that's no disgrace. We've got nothing to lose, and I've got a sneaky feeling we might just take something out of this one.
