Seems that Fulham gave it a go, which was what most of us wanted. Even Lineker Tweeted positively about us. Shame we could not get an equaliser to silence Lawro and his 3-0 win. Looking forward to watching the match on Sky.
Excellent 2nd half display, in a way scoring so early was disadvantageous as United really came out firing in the 1st half as a result. However Moussa Dembele, I know we've said this many times but what an amazing player. Hate to get carried away but if we were to lose him before September I hate to think what it could do to our season. As for United they were strangely subdued in the 2nd half after an awesome 35/40 min period in the 1st, must mention De Gea, Kagawa and Rafael who were all superb today and probably the difference in the end.

Does anything about Rooney look pretty? Well done United. It sounds like we gave it a good go, despite what the disrespectful Liverpool idiot said.
It was a good game, you guys scored early and it was all Unites the rest of the first half. I think we had like 70% possession in the first half, and the majority of it was on your side of the pitch. The first portion of the second half was pretty subdued until you scored and then you guys pushed for a 3rd goal and were the top team for the remainder of the game. Once Anderson tired and Kagawa got subbed off we lack pretty much all of our attacking intent out of the midfield and were just trying to let the game die off. Most Liverpool fans tend to think United don't win games, the other team just chooses to roll over for us. It's just one big conspiracy so Liverpool can pretend they can still compete with the big boys.
Only managed to watch the second half and have no problems with that performance. Our midfield again looked good; Diarra excellent and so good at making himself available; Dembele just amazing; Bryan in there - just wish he wouldn't hold on to the ball that second or two too long (and should have put that header in the last minute away). Riether looked solid and confident. Briggs did okay but we unfortunately missed Riise. As I said didn't see the first half but on the second half display we were unlucky not to come away with a point.
Here is the Club's official report - http://www.fulhamfc.com/match-centre/2012_2013/league/away/manchester-united Given last year's away form, those a pretty reasonable stats. [I understand Dembele had a 98% pass success rate - wow!]
I was just going to post this! They won't showboat Dembele, he plays for Fulham! (Ok, they probably will)
This time Jol sees the positives, and quite right too (in the second half) - http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/august/25/jol-united-reaction
I wouldn't get too excited by the time they've edited it, they'll have you believing Fulham didn't get out their own penalty area the whole game .
United showed real class in the first half, but I think Fulham were the better team in the second and can perhaps count themselves unfortunate to have come away without a point. Dembele will be a great loss if he moves to Real Madrid. Won almost every 50-50 and glided past defenders as if they weren't there.
Don't say that, Cottager. You'll get the QPR wums going again! Although if they've got any sense, they might wait until they actually win a game before they get the confidence up to come back on here.
Very exciting game ... good performances all around. Sidwell seemed to take the game by the throat toward the end. We need him to be healthy. Dembele at times looked like a man amongst boys out there, though he was caught in possession a couple times toward the end. Ruiz and Petric were OK.
Watched the highlights on MOTD - surprised that they showed us to be so worthwhile. The punditry focused on top-side, of course, although the showcase of Dembele was well deserved. Also watched it on the Sky (to get more than the few minutes of MOTD) and was surprised how well we did and the chances created - both sides had 11 shots on target. Dembele was immense, while Ruiz/Diarra found it tougher than last week. C O Y W
I thought Ruiz was still good. So calm on the ball and picked most of the 'right' passes. He really should've scored, though.
Watched the game yesterday and we were completely played off the park in the first half. Half time couldn't come quick enough for us really. Utd didn't have too many chances but took the ones that came their way. I can't remember a save MS having to make to be honest. Possession wise they were in their element, thought Briggs was a little poor yesterday against Rafael who was outstanding, not sure Riise would have lost him so easily for the headed goal, but experience will flush out those mistakes for Briggsy. Second half, different story. Really came out of the blocks and at 3-2 we were the only team looking likely to get the 6th goal of the game, unfortunately it didn't come due to three very good saves from De Gea (Dembele x2, Ruiz) but so many positives to take from the game to be honest, more than Utd. Ruiz and Dembele were both excellent, Riether was very steady at the back, good goal from Duff well worked from the free kick. Probably the biggest positive is that at 3-1 we didn't crumble or fade away out of the game. Last season we lost 5-0 to them at CC and after the first and second goal you could tell the players heads went and the score wasn't going to be pretty come full time. Thought Kaca faded out of the game, so taking him off for Sidwell was a good move from Jol. Would have liked to have seen more of Rodallega, but had a decent attempt blocked by Carrick. Maybe for the next game replace Kaca with Rodallega, bringing on the latter with half an hour to go.
