Not happy about this, loanees from Grenada and Udinese could have forced him out as he is so far down the first team pecking order.
But if he was good enough he would have had more game time for us prior to the arrival of the loanees!
Yes - and I suspect that more will be leaving soon as well. Wondering about the likes of Whichelow & Mingoia - as well as Jenkins. A laughably minimal fee for Loach, Massey on a free - what next? Maybe the Pozzos don't rate our Academy or it's products at all.
Former Roma right back Marco Cassetti will be watching tonight’s Watford game ahead of his move to the Hornets. Cassetti was released by Roma in the summer and has been training with Watford ahead of the move. The 35-year-old right back was at the Wycombe Wanderers Capital One Cup tie ten days ago alongside fellow new arrival Alex Geijo and Cassetti is again watching tonight’s game with his new team-mates. Cassetti spent six years at Roma and made around 150 appearances for the Italian club, and also played for Italy five times.
Great. I was wondering what we were going to do for a right back this season. We've only got hodgson.....and doyley...oh and thompson. Oh.
Hmm, Massey wanted game time, he didn't get it under Sean Dyche, MM, or Zola, i don't blame him for going. This Cassetti bloke seems rather old...i hope he's work pushing the others out for! (though Doyley should have played instead of Hodson tonight imho, but that's for another thread!)
Massey leaving on a free at his age is very dissapointing. He has talent that could have been nurtured and a season long loan to the U's would have been acceptable. I thought the new owners idea was to grow players and sell them at the top of their price. The U's have a bargain imo
This is the thing that confuses me as well. I understand that the deal involves some "jam tomorrow", as Jimmy Russo used to put it, but if there's significant money to be had from sell on fees then surely we are making a bad decision in selling him now?
Seems like we are just stockpiling players..not sure some of the older more tradtional fans will be too chuffed with all the short term way of running the club.
Yes - Mujangi Bia - but he is right sided midfielder according to Standard Liège - also not played U21 International since 2009 but at least at 23 he is younger than some other recruits - signing confirmed.
Really? Where did you get those stats from? According to my knowledge He was 10 times in the starting team, got substituted 6 times and stayed on the bench 5 times. Scoring 2 goals and assisting 4 times. That was last seasons 1st team record at Standard Liège.
The newsnow report stated "Mujangi Bia, 23, has already completed a medical with the Hornets and will sign imminently according to @standardman1989, a knowledgeable Standard Liege correspondent. The DR Congo-born attacker made 14 appearances for Standard last season, bagging an astounding 12 goals in the process and has represented the full Belgium national side twice. Whether or not Mujangi Bia will be signed by Udinese and then immediately loaned to Watford a la Marco Cassetti is unknown. You'd have to expect that to be the case however. Looks like the 'or not' may apply - if, of course, this can be believed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoffrey_Mujangi_Bia
