Well we tried having a bright young manager in Simon Grayson and it ended in tears (although much down to lack of investment from Bates and let's not forget that he better with last years set of players than Warnock). I've always been baffled by Warnock's short-term contract. If he gets us up, does that mean that he signs on for another 18 months or will we have to hire a new, possibly inexperienced, manager who will have to reshape the squad all over again. For my two'penneth I supect that Warnock will not be will us next season after retiring/being sacked/walking off in a huff. I would love it if we picked an up and coming manager who could give us long-term stability and introduce a new football culture into the club. Personally I like the look of Eddie Howe, who always comes across as being a decent and intelligent manager.
Sorry, I meant it ended in tears for SG. Personally, I thought he did not deserve to be sacked. He was never given the resources to sign decent players and had to make do with freebies and loans that other clubs didn't want. If he had been given support from the Chairman he would have got us promoted. And before anyone says that he wasn't up to it because of our woeful defence, I would just remind you how many we shipped at home to Forest last season under Warnock.
I agree with you there. I think if you backed either Colin or SG then we would get promoted, unluckily Ken's a bit of an eejit.
SG was not up for it because of his man-mismanagement skills, his lack of football nous, and his inability to stand up for himself and instil any kind of team bonding
Well said man. Wait and see, if we lose a few games on the trot you will see a lot of clowns calling for Colin's head, but as you said doesn't mater what manager we have. We need 2 things 1 -bates / harvey and co to leave 2 -£££££ and lots of it.
