Punching is traditionally a continental thing - I’m fine with it in principle if they’re good at it. It removes the risk of spilling a cross under pressure. Prob with Meslier, as those stats show, is he punches the simple catches too. He never used to come for anything but in the prem we leaked so many from set pieces they obviously instructed him to start coming for crosses. He’s just not that good at it. As for save %. It’s better than nothing but actual goals against v xg against is a better indicator in my view (sorry Leeds of london) as it factors in the likely difficulty of those shots. No stat tells you if the striker scuffed it or not
