Possession stats are what rival fans liked to use against us when playing the best teams in world football in Barca and Bayern so why can't we use it in our favour now?

Oh cobblers, possession means nothing. Suppose you have 90% possession but don't score? Possession means nothing then does it? Ok,you have your 6 points but I'll be watching your lucky shower of ****e closely. You are not as good as the scorelines suggest. I've never used possession for or against any team because it means nothing as I've said.

Scoring 3 times from 26 shots is poor performance. Being awarded a goal contrary to the rules is either lucky or cheating. You only deserve to win a match if you didn't benefit from incorrect decisions. Poor officiating ruins the game because it prevents anyone knowing who would have won if the correct decisions had been made.

This is my opinion whoever is playing.

Who cares? We're a new and young team that haven't played well together. Newly promoted teams are the hardest to face in August so I'll take that

So your saying Spurs have never benefited from a refereeing decision? Can I ask of your opinion when Chelsea were denied a penalty tonight and denied 2 legit penalties v Wigan?

Nope I'd be here. Why would I be on here posting when I'm watching the match? I openly said on the match thread I would not post till after the game. Check the Chelsea board if you don't believe me

No - I definitely did not say that. What I am saying is that goals are hard to score (even a top team like Chelseas are only going to get around 2 a game on average) and change matches. So any that get given wrongly have an unmeasureable affect on the match outcome. I am in favour of video review to try to elminate this random effect of poor decisions. Penalty or not is always going to be a subjective call though, particularly given the bizarre way that a foul tackle is currently defined in the Laws.

I don't think Chelsea are our rivals this season, as I expect them to finish well above us. But anyway, if they are to be considered as such, they have had a great start, and already put pressure on the two clubs that I think are their rivals this season, Utd and City. Getting 6 points clear of Utd early on is a fantastic boost for them, and while he would deny it, surely a worry for SAF.

I do think Arsenal are our rivals, but unless we get some players in soon, I fancy them to finish above us, their squad looks better to me.

  14. Arsenal are always our rivals, what ever our respective finishes in the table, at the end of a season <ok>

I've no problem with video review for "the ball crossing the line" because that is completely objective, not for complicated rules like offside which are changed every year and refs/spectators barely even know the full rule behind it.

I don't want the PL becoming like the SuperBowl and stop/starting every second. If that happens then I'm done with football. Human error makes the game exciting, without controversy football in general becomes boring

Fair comment HAIG, so are West Ham & Chelsea in that respect too.

the intensity of West ham fans towards to us, I find stronger than AFC fans.

  18. I've never quite understood why the Spanners feel such an intense rivalry with us. I don't know of one single Spurs fan who feels the same way about the Spanners. Yes, we like taking 6 points off them; yes, we laugh at their misfortunes, but not the degree to which the Spanners feel their rivalry against us.

The apathy of us towards West Ham is why I don't consider them rivals. The only thing about the club that generates ire is that mouthy harpy who exploits her undeserved media profile to push her agenda when she's supposed to be talking about something else who reminds people why they miss Margaret Mountford.

  20. Taken from the BBC Football website:-

Gervinho is hoping to emulate a former Arsenal great this season.

The Ivory Coast winger, signed from Lille in an £11m deal last summer, says: "I really hope to emulate Robert Pires in my second season, hopefully do even better, but I hope to carve out my own niche of course.

"I hope to push on personally, also to progress with the team and to showcase my qualities, before I put in my transfer request to either City or United to actually go and win something in my career."

There! fixed it for you, Mr Gervinho <ok>
