How does the attendance hold up compared to the second game of the season in previous years? Remember, barring the premier league days, we generally start the league a week earlier than we have. That should give is a hint at how many were missing with holidays and the like.

There's still a lot of people refusing to go to games until Bates has gone, that attendance was above last seasons average, they only got to 30k twice last season, the league game against West Ham and the cup game against Man United.

True to a point. . But i would still have expected more to have been at that game. I just think low gates are not just Hull Citys problem and maybe too much is being made of our gate against Brighton. They wont attract the average punter thats for sure. Anyone who saw them @ Swindon would not get at all excited at going to the game. If City do the bizz then the gates will increase and the receipts will improve.

Without question we have alot less season ticket holders than the seasons mentioned above. It would be more of a worry if gates like Brighton stay the same Even if City are doing well. The next 3 home games are Bolton 1st sept - Millwall 15th sept and Peterboro 29th sept. Its fair to say which game the average punters will choose to attend. Maybe the Millwall and Posh games should be promotional matches ? Hand out free tickets to all the school kids when they go back.
