So why did we even bother to turn up then? Surely we should have written to the Premier League asking them to give Fulham a default 2-0 win to save us the petrol money of driving down to London <doh>

And sorry, but once AGAIN you have misunderstood the use of the phrase "LOOKING to get something from the game", nobody ever said we "SHOULD" have got anything but with your head so far up your own arsehole I'm not entirely surprised you keep making this mistake <ok>

It's quite obvious to me, and surely others reading this, was was meant in the comments that people have made that have clearly so wound you up. The fact you still refuse to see this shows I'm just wasting my time with you so I'll save my energies for someone who can at least get involved in reasoned debate without taking what I say out of context each and time <doh>

    Dear me!!

That I agree with Supers. The point I was trying to get home was that as fans, we should be looking for anything. We are not representative of the club and the club does not represent us. We are consumers, no more, no less and if any season ticket holder decides to stop going, rest assured Norwich City will not be phoning you up to ask you to reconsider.

As fans we live in hope every week of getting a reasonable to decent performance (anything above that is a bonus) but as fans we cannot say "we" should be looking to win against team X, Y or Z - not in the PL at any rate.

I can assure you I am in no way "wound up", if I was I perhaps might have retaliated to your quip of me being on my high horse. Kind of wished I had not apologised yesterday now.

I have purposely avoided going to certain away games in the past for this very reason, our record at particular venues is dire and I just will not spend my good money travelling to venues where I feel we will almost certainly get "turned over". As a fan, that is my right and if in some opinions it makes me less of "true" fan, then so bit. I am a consumer, I can take it or leave it as I please <ok>

Can i just say, that a little under a week ago most of you on here agreed with Beefy when he took the piss out of a Pink Un comment saying that a 0-0 draw would be a good result. yet now the same people on here are saying how Fulham are a great side and you shouldn't expect anything from the game.

seems that, you sway whichever suits the situation at the time.

Your success was built on taking the game to the opponents, to change that so drastically over the course of the summer is the most stupid thing ever to try and do.

Why the feck shouldn't we as fans be looking/expecting/wanting/desiring/hoping/pleading/desperately seeking/ My brain can't compute your point Thai. I'm trying to understand it, but am failing dismally

You might want to go and have a look around a little deeper, most of us predicted a loss. I thought 3-0 to Fulham <ok>

Well I think that it's probably being positive, looking at the bright side, it's not all doom and gloom as it's one game in. No one has said that 5-0 is a good result and who can blame us for softening the blow anyway? Craven Cottage is a tough palce and also they tactically got it right, as much as we got it wrong and I still think they are a weaker team than they were last season but they were an underrated team last season.

first i've heard of it. most fans/posters thought we'd lose - i felt a 0-0 draw was possible. i gave us about a 5% chance of winning at fulham. 45% chance of a point i'd have said. our record is appalling at their place and combined with their home record, it was to be expected that we wouldn't win the game. the manner of the defeat grates, naturally, but i think the majority of our fans are realistic and have handled this defeat rather maturely, especially when you check out how some qpr and liverpool fans have taken their defeats!

I represent my club where ever I go, I'm proud to say I support Norwich City, as my club has ethics and cares about it's supporters. Thai, I don't get your thinking at all. Wether you predicted us to lose or not is irrelevant, deep down all supporters hope we can win, and I for one am not frightened for our club to go anywhere. I haven't seen one conclusive statement as to why we shouldn't go to Fulham and win the game, history doesn't come into it, if it did we would know at the beginning of the season who would win the league and who would get relegated.
You avoid going to games where you think, and history dictates we will lose, Jesus mate what sort of fan are you????????

In all fairness ILD if someone pays money for their tickets they can support the club however they like, even if different to myself. I just don't like booing our players as I don't see it as supporting the club, otherwise each to their own. <ok>

Just wondering Thai, are you now going to come out and tell all those who disagree with you (which appears to be the overwhelming majority) to "shut the **** up!!!!" as you did to me the other day over this exact same issue?

Well, in my opoinion the toughest league in the world got even tougher this year. From the outset I've said that the three promoted teams are better than the three relegated ones and their results at the weekend were certainly an indicator that this is true with only the Saints losing and that was in a close call to the Premier Champs.

Most of the PL teams appear to have strengthened their squads and two of those who appear on paper not to have done so (Fulham and Albion) had whacking wins on Saturday and so would appear (after one game albeit) in good fettle.

There's a big difference between hoping to get a result and expecting to get a result. I'd hope for as positive result from all of our games but expect to get something from maybe 30% - 40% of them - that's a big difference.

On Saturday I was hoping for a point but predicted, in the CPL predictor a 2-0 defeat so expected to get nothing, which is what we got. I predicted last year we'd lose at Spurs but we won so who knows what will happen on any given day.

If we play to our strengths we'll get positive results in a lot of the games we play, if we don't there will be more days like Saturday I'm afraid.

ILD - You may feel that you do represent the club and I am not going to knock you for that, but the reality is you do not. By paying to watch the team does not make you part of the club, although it does make you part of a close knit fan base who share a common cause <ok>

I never said anything about not hoping to win, I hope we can win every game but I am realistic to acknowledge when we are likely to be beat on any given week, depending on the opponents. I hoed we would would win against Fulham but realistic enough to place a 3-0 defeat as my prediction for the prediction league, does this make me less of a supporter? I am sure it does not, it just makes me more of a realist.

I will ignore your last question, it does not deserve an answer <ok>
