James Harper played for Doncaster Rovers against Barnsley in a pre-season friendly game 4 days after we were there. Game ended 2 - 2 but no mention of Harper doing anything. Looks like he played the full 90 minutes though.

Beggars cannot be choosers. i would suggest any chance of getting N.R.C. will depend on what other options he has. Looks like the last week of August and deadline day could be a good watch for us. I am surprised that a club like Wigan have not gone for him already as he would be a perfect fit for them. imo.
Glad he's found a club, he always said he wanted to end up back in Oz so his kid's could have a great quality of life growing up. I think he probably could have done a job as a utility player here for 1 more season, but he was a good servant to us nonetheless, even if he was found wanting in the prem at times.
Most of them will have space. I think last season only two teams had to leave players out of their squad, and one of those would be Arsenal if they had 18 or more non-home grown players. They've got til the end of the window to finalise their squads though so plenty of time for change.
He's only going to have activated the clause if he thought he could get a PL deal. If he now can't get one he won't have much choice but to drop down. Be popular on his return to Bolton if he's shown up like that though.
Won't be long before there is Harper nostalgia on here just like there is for Marney! These players seem crap to most but are the water-carriers that every team needs
The only reason i could see this happening is IF Chris Hughton wants Curtis Davies that badly. IMO, CD is a better PL player and Norwich will be doing alot of defending this season.
Crazy if true. Mckenna is the water carrier that we need and he should be offered a new deal. We need Mckenna more than Coppinger. Maybe a trade with Olifinjana would be better ?

Solid midfielder, could be the next Ashbee, which is just what we need. I rated him at Blackburn actually, was surprised when he was allowed to drop to League 1. He's also got just one year left on his current deal, so he won't cost a bomb.

Oh I thought he played in the centre. Fair enough. Still he can run with the ball. Could this be a precaution for Aluko not getting clearance?
