These Sahin rumours are so perplexing. Some say that he is close to join us, others say he is close to joining Liverpool. Also, people say that he will only come here if Song goes but according to others he will be brought here as some sort of stop gap for Wilshere and it has nothing to do with Song.
He's probably going to Liverpool which is a bummer, but they are probably so desperate to get him they won't even throw in a buyout clause.
Well I can tell you, with some certainty that he won't be replacement for Alex Song. More a replacement for Wilshere. I just don't know how these transfers work... does the club decide where the player goes, or does the player decide where the player goes?
Sahin will be a great signing for whoever gets him. Consider that he was Dortmunds best players in 2010-11 ahead of Kagawa, Lewandowski, Goetze etc.. I get the impression that Wenger is unsure about the signing. (probably beacuse he's not sure how soon wilshere will return) The probably with this is that Liverpool or Tottenham are likley to sneek in ahead of us. However he is NOT a defensive midfielder. He's more of a Pirlo/Xavi than he is a Makelele/Gattuso. We need to just stop procrastinating and make a move. He would surely prefer to play for a Champions League club ahead of Liverpool or Tottenham
They want him because he is the ideal replacement for Keita. He is very versatile in midfield, being able to play DM, CM and CAM, and he can also fill in at CB. He suits their style of play and he is African, so it makes them seem more diverse. He'll go their, play a bit part role in a great team and it will make him look brilliant at times, but if he some how managed to start every game in a season through injuries and suspensions to other players, he would soon get found out. I don't expect him to make a consistent impact their until he reaches his late 20's, if he stays around for long enough.

An update on this. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/aug/15/everton-signing-striker-kevin-mirallas
i like everton wouldnt mind them getting him. I dont think hes anything special and would never get a chance at arsenal
I feel sorry for Sahin, forced against his will to live in Liverpool for a year, and to play for a club with no morals or ethics.
The problem being that while he is an awesome player, it is only a loan deal so if he becomes an integral part of the L'pool setup there will be nervous breakdowns when it's time to head back to Madrid. Part of the reason I think he will go there is because Madrid do not want the option to buy included in the deal, i.e. they want him back.
Sauce? On a side note looks like Modric is leaving the spuds £23M http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7992592/Modric-set-for-Real-switch
Sounds like a **** deal to me. I am pretty sure they brought him for £15 Mil plus. Also, he has plenty of years left on his contract. For the role he does, you can't get find that many players as good as Modric.
