Ok chaps.. They say a team is as strong as its weakest link.
So who do you think our weakest mainstream player is and why?

OK, I'll go first then.

Willo.

I know I'll get stick as he's done a decent job at times, but for me he's not the kind of player who will keep us challenging for euro places. If either Saylor or Colo get injured / suspended, we look vulnerable.

Yes he's OK, but not good enough. For a big lad he's not strong enough and doesn't dominate in the air.

He can often get caught on the wrong side of the striker, isn't quick enough and gives away silly fouls - and he needs to stop grabbing players / shirts in the penalty area.

There - I await my bashing.

Consider yourself bashed!

I'm going for Obertan Cos I just can't see him progressing this year and he runs down so many blind alleys.

Yeah, Obertan was my other pick. I'm hoping he won't get many starts with the squad we have, whereas Willo is 'likely' to if either Colo or Saylor can't play.

I was about to agree with you about the shirt pulling and not dominating in the air, (height is wasted on him), but on reading your thread again, I have to agree with all of it.
He is inconsistent, because he does have the odd moment where he's pretty solid, then makes school boy errors, lots of improvement to be made by a little more concentration.

Now what can we do about Simpson constantly backing off. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Get a new right back?

Surprised nobody has mentioned Perchino yet.

You should be ashamed of yourself. I am very disappointed in you. Now go to the naughty step to think about your actions and the impact they have on others. And don't come back until you're prepared to apologise.

Yes master, whatever you say master, please don't hit me again master.

I think we have a good all round squad, if it was to be a weak link in the starting line up it would be Simmo (and i am constantly saying he's awesome). Think this will be the year to see if he will ever cut it at the highest level in the top league in the world. I hope he does but at the moment couldn't see him playing at a higher placed club than ourselves, but then again i cant think of many RB in lower placed Prem team I'd rather have tbh.

If its not for the Starting XI, then yeah Willo or Obertan would be the weakest players in the squad IMO.

Obertan is not an automatic first team choice, I really want him to come good, I would definitely give him until January at least, I still feel it's too soon to write him off.

It was only against Hartlepool but he showed amazing pace and quick thinking to latch onto the ball and smash it into the back of the net.
