Yes lol lets not open the can of worms that is Liverpools recent transfer policy lol #PayingOverTheOddsForAnyOldShit
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!! Oh my good god bluff lol No more, no more! My sides are aching from that one!!
Had you heard of Tiote, Cabeye or Cisse before we signed them?? You dont buy players based on fame or popularity you base it on ability. Are you the chief scout at Anfield by any chance?? lol
Not Tiote, Cabaye yes, Cisse yes. Are you lot signing Douglas btw? He is class. If you hadn't caught on the responses are sarcastic.
not sure..... The signing of dutch CM Vurnon Anita is more less a done deal though from what I can work out, just need to agree personal terms with the lad.
Plus, just using Jelavic for example. If he was going to come to us he was going to cost some 12 mil, the minute Everton got involved and we said we wont pay, they got him for 7 I think. That's a 5 million difference because we came in. What we paid for Carroll in the end ****ed us in this regard. Now everyone wants us to cough up that high price. I think Allen will do well, but when lass Diarra is out there for 8 mil, is does make you wonder. But again, if Allen is the right player, for the right system, then it's not my money and if it makes us better, great. Cabaye was just a steal though. Last year as well ( with regards to British players) Bent went for some 20 mil to Villa. That same window, Moussa Sow went for 10 mil euros to Fenerbache and is still banging the goals in.
Their are so few british lads coming through though at the minute. I think part of it is down to the 'quick fix' attitude that alot of the top clubs in the EPL have taken on board. Maybe also due to the fact that alot of our young kids are deemed not good enough at 14 or 15 so they give up playing - pretty much like I did. Players dont develope like that though, some dont become decent until well into the late teens. I have seen kids who look like world beaters at 10 look like utter **** at 12 or 13. We need to nurture the talent, give it chance to blossom properly. I'd also like to see us move away from 'fast and powerful' and work with the players who have genuine ability instead. Too many players at a young age get murdered by bigger kids who eventually end up being **** but looked decent for a year or so because they were taller or faster. We lose that bunch of less physically developed kids who may one day have been the next Messi... see what I mean?? I love the way they bring kids through in the states, love how they give them a shot at playing college and getting an education out of it at the very least. I think alot of our kids here get dumped at 16, brainless and clueless and end up resenting the system that chewed them up and spat them out. I dont think any of our current British talent (apart from Bale, A Cole and Rooney) should go for anymore than £10m.... if you compare them to what you can get abroad.
