Have to say the game had a feel of pre-season atmosphere about it until the Steve Evans show turns up. Was worth the six pound alone just to see that idiot go mental. To the game. Cameron Stewart was superb for the first time in ages he decided to get to the byline, put in three great crosses in the first half, made the goal from a great run, made a great run cut back to Koren who should have done better. Back to his best. Mckenna didn't look fit, Cairney looked ten times the player when Koren came into the middle. Rotherham looked poor as soon as they had someone like Mclean chasing them down. Chester has a great touch but did switch off twice, but didn't come to anything as he made up for the mistakes. Really need some depth, the bench was horrific today. Amos looked to have poor distribution but he will still start next week.
If I hadn't of been at work today, I would have been there. Hopefully making the trip to Blackburn!
Went, and thought the performance was dire. Same problems as last Season though IMO. Lack of urgency going forwards and an unwillingness to shoot. The players need to start shooting when they have the chance and bag more goals.
The performance was rather solid however, we didn't look too hazy at the back and Chester looked unbeatable. Cairney and Stewart were brilliant and if they can keep that form up in the League, I'll be fairly more optimistic about our results.
Scraped through on penalties, nevertheless we won the game and are through to the next round. Just waiting for the Hull City Cup Curse to knock us out against completely abysmal opposition...

Nobody had a bad game today though it's fair to say many of them can play better than they did. Amos seemed a bit hesitant at times causing a bit of confusion in an otherwise solid defence. Rosenior will play better on other days, Dudgeon has set a standard for himself and Chester and Faye look as though they have played together for years.
It seemed as though there was a lack of cohesion in midfield at times and the ball was given away needlessly on occasions through not reading each others play. This will improve with time.
Still the same problem with not turning chances into goals, but this is a one day only problem and will be cured by next week.
I'd sooner have proschwitz in the team than not, he seems to have enough about him to be a good player and I'm sure he will create many chances, it would also be nice to see him scoring on regular basis but on that we will have to wait and see.
There is a very good team in there waiting to come out but probably a bit short on squad strength. Getting the right CM player in would take us a long way forward. The sort of centre mid we need would probably not be in the loan market, so using the two loans in other areas would make sense. The sort of player we could do with would be a first name on the team sheet, experienced, vocal, type. Let's hope such a player can be brought in or failing that Oily can rediscover the form he showed whilst at Cardiff.

I'm concerned for Proschwitz, and I agree with the comment that the crowd might start to get to him. He looked lost out there today - not that he played poorly, as he showed some good touches and won a few more of his aerial battles than against Norwich (thank ****). Just watching him though, he seems almost too similar a player to Fryatt to make that partnership work, though I'm pinning my hopes on him turning out for us like Johann Elmander did for Bolton (i.e. A pretty indifferent start with a few purple patches here-and-there, before blossoming into a great all-round player).
I thought Stewart was poor again. The guy seems incapable of beating a man no matter who we play, and whilst his crossing seemed to have improved from last season it was still decidedly average. His wastefulness in front of goal is starting to grate on me as well, as it seems he has at least one glorious chance a game that he puts either 10ft wide or 20ft over the bar.

A few things that I disagree and agree on.
1. I agree on the fact that Proschwitz is obviously nervous and hopefully will blosson at some point.
2. It was a Pearson-esque performance but we got the job done.

1. The crowd will only start to get at him if they're the glory fans that don't simply give people a chance. He's played four games here so far and that was his 2nd at the KC. The lad will get better! We have some ridiculously fickle fans (luckily the one next to me hasn't turned up to either KC games so far) who need to get over the fact that not every player can be a worldbeater inside their first game.
2. Stewart was not poor at all today! He was a close runner for MotM! His running was first class and he almost scored a world class goal in the first half! Another call from me of "give the lad a chance"... he's getting better as we go!
3. Welsh clearly isn't Welsh, he's a fat twat but he's a Scottish one.
I think Stewart WAS poor, and that if people settle for the level of performance City gave us today then we're royally ****ed.

I know its early days but the German up top looked clueless. I hope he gets better or I can see him wearing a shirt with -33
Each to their own RE stewart but I think today was "acceptable" to an extent. We got the job done in the end.
If we keep performing like this until say Leeds away; then sure you're right we are royally fcked.

I thought big nick looked great, some of his balls were maybe too good for our players. Give him time to settle in get used to the league and our players, 15+ goals. At least.

To be fair i am not sure what else Stewart could have done bar score. He beat his man on numerous occassions are only goal of the day came through him, put some great balls into the box and looked to beat his man down the wing every time.
we'll wait and see about the crowd and Proschwitz. When he stepped up for the penalty they were groans and cries of 'oh no' behind me. What's it going to be like in a league game that matters more ?
I reckon, like what happens with a lot of foreign players, Nick might've been surprised by the pace and bustle of the English game.
Especially in a knock out cup tie against Rotherham.

I wondered about these two possibilities. I laughed at the time for the stupidity, but the thought did occur to me later that maybe people just couldn't be arsed.
Having said that, it didn't help that they played the usual full-time music and the ball-boy in the southwest corner pulled up the corner flag and buggered off.
Still, it was fun to boo the poor kid when he had to do a quick walk of shame to put it back
