    Swarbs.
    1. FSG summoned Kenny Dalglish to the USA because the final league position was unacceptable. Had he even won the FA Cup he would have still been dragged over to explain himself. They were correct the league position was unacceptable and it did need explaining. The other thing and this cost Damien Comolli his job was paying over the odds for certain players and not bargaining as he had done on other players ie Suarez.

There is also the Suarez debacle, and Kenny didn't cover himself in glory with regards to that either. Suarez should have been warned to shake hands or be fined and hit with an internal suspension. Kenny should not have taken his word that he was going to shake hands, sometimes the word is not enough.
However on the other side of that like John Terry and Anton Ferdinand, I also feel the handshake ritual for that game as we all know is a powderkeg affair by the best of times should have been cancelled as it was Chelsea v QPR.

    2. Without the debt the Glazers would be brillaint owners. Thats correct. You've had marvellous success since they arrived 4 titles, a CL and 3 Carling Cups. However wouldn't it be nice to have that interest money in the bank account to buy players? You fans are the ones that put that money in there in the first place by buying club merchandise and tickets for games. Its a catch 22 situation.

Ahem... sorry the inner 5 year old in me when it heard about Man Utd Floatation wanted to point out that something else floats...

    ... shi... shi.... ships...

And now I've got that out the way... In terms of assets, money earning potential... etc... there is no-way that Utd is worth 2.8bill... what makes it worth the price is the "irrational" emotional "I want to own a piece" side- that makes people willing to pay more than something is worth just to own a part of the club.

Glazers have been walking a very fine risky line with the club- but somehow have managed to keep their heads above water- and obviously on the pitch MU haven't left their fans disappointed too often. I think in terms of ownership style- there problably isn't too much difference between the Glazers and H&G- the difference is- the Glazers managed to get a few 7s with their rolls... if they didn't have SAF masterminding victories and keeping people interested in the club- they would have collapsed. Fans are fickle... there are hard-core fans that will follow clubs no matter what... I suspect most people who bother registering on forums like this and hanging around (not just posting wind ups) are mostly of that mould... but all clubs have the fickle fans- and viewership declines during the bad years. If results hadn't been so good for you lot- you'd probably be in a Rangers situation now the way the Glazers are handling things. (and yes... a few more years with H&G and we'd have been in that position too)...

It's scary the way owners risk our clubs so much these days... As long as SAF can keep the club playing well for you- revenues in will continue to be good, fans will show up, sponsors will sponsor, and you'll be safe unless the Gs really do something daft. If you have two or three bad season in a row... lose CL spots- etc... it will be really rough for you... don't say it can't happen- it can, all clubs have difficult periods in their history.

As for the Henry and the Fenway chaps- I've been moderately happy with them. I think they seem good sensible leaders with a long-term goal in mind- and seem to be more risk averse. Obviously they're in it for the business side of things no matter what they say- but that's not totally bad... they tried investing with Dalglish... that didn't turn out too good. I don't think we'll see that sort of investment again. I'm confident Liverpool's long term financial state is stable now... whether B Rod can bring us back to glory days remain to be seen... I can only have fan's optimism for that as there is no way to predict future success.

Besides interest how much have the glazers taken for themselves?

I heard about some loans, which had to be paid back before the bond issue and a £10miilion payment though that could of been the loans.

Money aside ( and you have to consider the hatred of the glazers clouds the likes of MUST and G&G brigade to a point the should be ignored by anyone with an ounce of sense ) they let the football men run the club, Gill does the commercial stuff with his team.

Anyone ever considered Fergie doesnt spend big every year so that his predecessor can have a massive pot of cash to start his life as manager of the greatest club on earth?

They are the best team right now ( well they are not, its real madrid ) but United are the greatest club of all time. Greatest not meaning best of course. Again thats Real Madrid.

I respect your opinion, even though I have the right to disagree with it. Its my opinion that Manchester United are not, never were, or ever will be the greatest club of all time. So we'll agree to disagree in that respect.

I was wondering that too. Even though he is entitled to his opinion, and we have the right to disagree with it of course.

Global appeal, success and where the club lies in the hearts of people world wide.

I think its fair to say we are the greatest though I can accept others may see it different.

We have more fans than anyone else so have the widest appeal, we are successful, very very successful and remain so now ( 1 season in United terms means nothing ) and for various reasons we have a place in the hearts of many and are loved.

Tbh it can be any of the major clubs, for me its United because they are my club.

If I had said stoke are the greatest I would of expected some grief, maybe even to be shot at <ok>

Basically in summary, your team aren't the best in the world but because they are your team, they are.

    Okay, I got it.

Thats an excellent summary of what he said. You can say a lot by saying little or nothing.

It's all well and good saying you may have the most supporters, but how many of them have flocked to the better side in Manchester in the last year?

Thats bound to hurt. At least you haven't said that Fergie wants his stopwatch back, after Bobby Manc stole it.

So poor, works better if the team you are referring to could actually fill their stadium <ok>

Yeah, but at least they have a trophy in their cabinet. <laugh>

EDIT: How many people in Asia go to watch Man Utd week in, week out? 99% of your supporters go if you exclude people who can't travel to Old Toilet every week.

Out of interest at what point did liverpool fall so far that some of you started clinging desperately to City?
