This makes him, according to the Liverpool transfer calculator, worse than Henderson AND Downing lol. God help the kid!

On a serious note... its another massive gamble I feel. He could be more money down the toilet if he can't play with the higher quality players that he has around him at Liverpool. Henderson?? lol
 
More of a foil to Lucas, can cover for Lucas, can move the ball about. we shall see. One thing is for sure the british quota at LFC is full and overflowing!!!

Mixed feelings about this but I hope Allen continues the form he showed last season! The only slight concern I have (and this is the same for all signings in fairness) is if Rodgers finds the step up just a little too much, how likely is it that Allen and Borini will be wanted by the next manager?
 
ok guys lets be very general here for one minute.

1. both signings are internationals

2. Both men have a lot more experience just playing than henderson did.

3. both men fit exactly the model rodgers wants.

then lets be specific on allen.

1. the guy runs all day.

2. the guy can get forward big time

3. with allen and lucas screening the back 4 we release gerrard and the two full backs to go forward big time....

4. henderson can do the same job once its beaten into him for 3 months... so we can have all three (and add shevely for no 4) young midfielders being a very strong set of options.

5. we can get rid of adam!

6. if we want 4-3-3 we can push gerrard into the forwards where he'd rather be anyway and play 3 yuong men full of running and ability.

7. was he worth the fee? most don't think so. I don't think so either but he can prove himself.
 
Think he will be quality. The £15m price tag will be looked at more because we are Liverpool who spent £55m on Downing and Carroll.

I think he has as much quality and value to the team as Ox has at Arsenal and Phil Jones has at Man Utd. They cost as much, so if their respective fans have a pop they should look at their own dealings too. For me, I think it's about right.
 
I'll admit I didn't know a huge amount about him but after reading a bit, looking at stats and reading opinions it does seem he could be a player for us.

I like the aspect that he can defend as well as keep the ball and move it forward. This frees up Gerrard and stops him doing the donkey work which he now struggling to do.

Interested to see how he does.
 
I'm pretty gutted that I didn't make an effort to make friends with him in school, if I knew he would become a future Liverpool player I would have courted him into giving me a couple of season tickets. <ok>

I am one of those respective fans zingy, but have to agree with you.
I think in this market 15mil is an ok price. The manager also has experience of the player and knows what he can bring to the team. Very sensible buy in my opinion.
Gutted i can`t see anything to WUM about this.

If it's any consolation...he was a United fan when he was younger. <laugh>
