Could be crushed either way! Not that I'm pessimistic mind, as long as we can see positives

Indeed. Having our team in place for the Wigan game is what I'm hoping for. Signing players in time for the City game is fairly irrevelant in my mind (although clearly the sooner they come in, the better they'll be intergated into the team going into the Wigan game).

I think we're all expecting a loss to be fair, it will be interesting going into a game where we're red hot favourites to lose. Maybe our players could flourish under the lack of pressure?

That's how we beat Leeds on the opening day last season, and subsequently finished 2nd. We knew we were good enough to compete, and caught complacent teams by surprise. I'll never forget how much the Leeds fans thought they would destroy us <laugh>

Absolutely, to say we are underdogs is obviously an understatement! But yes, maybe they will play with a freedom that being on a hiding to nothing can bring. Here's hoping <ok>

Yeah, I would be happy with second! Bookies have us down as second favourites for relegation? All you need is an organised, spirited team with a bit of quality and if the likes of Lambert, Schneiderlin, Lallana etc are as good as we make them out to be, then we definitely have it. We're as good as Norwich and Swansea, if not better!

What i mean is do you think that the signings we have made are enough to cope with the whole season ? A few injuries and we could be in trouble................

What more do you expect? Two signings at every position, all of whom better than what we've already got?

Yes, but to be fair to Leeds, the "best midfield outside the Premier League" (oh How I loved that quote), just didn't perform that day.... the only reason we won!

We got pretty lucky last season, how every time we won the other team "just didn't perform", the fans are never wrong.

Fox Hooiveld New CB* Clyne doesn't look too bad to me.
*Yoshida?

It does to me. As brilliant as Hooiveld was last year he's got absolute zero top level experience, and I'm not at all convinced on Yoshida. Not that I'm being typically negative and saying I'd hate the signing but I'd rather see us play Fonte who has been consistently good for us (unless you listen to the idiots who convince themselves he was terrible last year for some reason) than someone like Yoshida.

I think Fonte was good last year but he did make quite a few mistakes and got overshadowed by Hooiveld. If we're after experience maybe it would be good to sign Dann, maybe being in a more organised and positively minded team could prove the critics wrong. Fonte in my opinion was best when with Jaidi because he had someone with experience to guide him. Possibly a Dann-Fonte partnership?

Yoshida scored for the Japanese today, so we will have to wait for the Japanese to finish there Olympic campaign if were after his signature. Chairman of VVV Venlo has said they are willing to let him go to a big team to help develop his career, Get Chung on the phone!!

A while back we were linked with Stefan de Vrij, Ivan Ramis and Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik in one day, would have been very happy with any of those.
