I recognise Tuvalu and Nauru, I think that Carlos Tevez' loss of earnings during his strike was on a par with the GDP of those nations. I believe, not certain.

The US got two gold medals in the shooting - they would've got more, but most of the top prospects peak when they're still at high school...

According to the OS, Richard Hounslow is a Spurs fan.
He picked up a silver medal in the men's canoe slalom doubles, which I'm sure we all watched.
    Well done that man. <ok>

Really stoked for all the GB gold medalists after all the gloom and doom headlines earlier in the week.
But I must tell you the media in Oz is after some serious answers to why they've only got 1 gold.
One of the team ambassadors (supposedly there to motivate) said that the laid back Australian lifestyle was to blame!
Maybe- drum roll please- they are not as good as they thought they were.

Jessica Ennis is superb, cool, calm, great personality and not bad for a "fat" chick

Dwain chambers done well to run 10.2, his season best was 10.25, that new lucozade drink works well, i'll go get myself some.

The british are going great guns so far and tonight when Ennis wins gold at the 800m, what an atmosphere that will be.

Dwaine Chambers, more proof that being a member of Team GB is more important than being a drugs cheat...

Compare and contrast their reaction to that kn0b Sanchez who just won his semi-final in the 400m hurdles (not even won the even yet, after which it still wouldn't be excusable) he just stood there, unsmiling, arms folded. So much ego and arrogance in these track athletes, even more in the 100m lot. Yet we give them all the adulation and stoke this personality cult which makes them believe they're more important than the Olympics. As I say, watch Sanchez, then watch the women rowers earlier, their reaction was priceless. In fact got to compliment the down to earth reactions of all the GB rowers and cyclists compared to the disgraceful stuff we're about to be subjected to from the track sprinters. Talk about being over hyped, and what chances of any of the 100m bunch ever getting properly drug tested? The Olympics have got into bed with that lot much as the way the Government has become symbiotically dependent on the City and banking. But overall been extremely impressed by the rowers and cyclists.

Yeah, I thought..."what a ****". Hope he trips over his hurdle in the final. Kelly Holmes' famous reaction is the sort I'd like to see.

Fair enough...Bolt is the fastest man on earth and broke the World Record. At least he has earned the right to have an ego with the Archer thing.

not really Zingy..that is why i dont watch these short distance races..especially the 100m..so predictable..so much hype..and so many sad people buy it...for me the olympics is about 'normal' people having their moment of glory.

and that Felix Sanchez..what a bellend.

100% agree with that. I used to enjoy the 100m when I was a kid, growing up watching Linford Christie et al. Haven't watched it since 2000...missed Bolt's WR in Beijing.

Although, Bradley Wiggins is probably no longer your 'average Joe'...I hugely admire his attitude. This video is just legendary...

Why do they try and put a downer showing the cr*ppy Olympic football penalty shoot out?! It's quite ironic we lost on a penalty shoot out although it was nice to watch it not giving a sh*t.
it sounds unpatriotic but I stand by the fact that football shouldn't be in the Olympics. Watching the track and field tonight IS what the Olympics is about, and I cheered for the Arsenal fan Mo Farah!
