    SPL Press Release

The Scottish Premier League today announced that it has appointed an independent Commission to inquire into alleged EBT payments and arrangements made by Rangers in relation to players during the period from 2000 until 2011.

The Commission will determine whether during that period in relation to alleged EBT payments and arrangements for players, Rangers was in breach of the relevant SPL Rules.

In the event that the independent Commission decides that such breach or breaches occurred the independent Commission will have powers to determine what sanctions, if any, are appropriate.

Fixing the record books for cheating is not dependent on the club still being alive.

Any additional sanctions could be regarded as a form of inheritance tax <ok>

so u r sayin that if we are found gulty we should have titles taken away???

even though Septic have said that they HAVE used EBTS as well, should get the same punishment?

last night i was listening to the clyde moan in, i think it was Daryll King that said, it should be the players and management at the time that should be punished and not the club, as the team won the cups and titiles fair and square on the field

1 ebt - juninho - which was paid back - with no dual contract - and we didnt win a title that year so please please strip it

its the dual contracts that is the breach

and yes - if the titles were won on the backs of players that rangers could not afford - then titles i guess should be stripped

players, managers, directors - you realise that all of these individuals make up the club dont you?

    Was it Just juninho???

i am just comenting on what Daryll king said, if it is the titles then so be it, however, if celtic have used it more times than just the brazilan midget, and they are guilty and titles or trophies are taken away, will celtic and the fans find it fair?? probably not as always as its biased and sporting intgurty and all the other bull crap that comes on of celtic park, time will tell mate

    yes it was just juninho

personally, i think if celtic are guilty of breaching the spl rules in this regard then they should face the same punishment as any other club <ok>

but this smacks a wee bit of "what aboot they taigs"

To be honest Craig Whyte was a total joke and an embarasment for the 6 or so months that he was the "owner" of rangers, i dont think he gave any money rangers, not even the £1 that he bought the club for, he probably asked a wee guy out side ibrox for a tap, before he went to the meeting

We've been punished like this for Craig Whytes mistakes so far, you cant really think the never ending list of punishments we've received because of this clown is comparable to the crime?

Anyway, Juventus got demoted and titles stripped for match fixing, Rangers still had to go out and win these matches. Talk of "players you couldnt afford" I dont understand...we were still paying them!

If rangers or any team were done for match fixing then yes titles should be stripped, look as juve and of course Marseille in the champions league.
