Ledley was a good player but ultimately never really played at the very highest level. Terry and Rio have played in Champions League finals, FA Cup finals, numerous major championships for their country and in title run ins.

It baffles me that some people think Ledley is better than Terry when he's never proved it at the elite level. Yes he looked good generally every other week in the P.L but to be world class (as Terry and Rio have been) means doing it at the highest level.

I find this bizarre, in your opinion what's higher than playing against someone like United in the PL? Admittedly you could say Barca or Real or whatever, but Terry got sent off against Barca so arguably couldn't cut it at that level.

I didn't even realise people considered him on the same level.

champions of europe

Me neither. King was head and shoulders above Terry. Without the damaged knee, Terry wouldn't have played half as many games for England and King probably wouldn't have stayed at Spurs.

have you even bothered looking at the stats on the link?

No, because football isn't an individual sport and stats prove nothing. Terry has played in better teams than King, so I would be amazed if his stats aren't better. Watching the 2 of them play, King was faster, better positioned and better on the ball. No stats will change that view.

Stats from last four seasons, when Spuds have been the equal or better of Chelsea

Stats from last four seasons, when Spuds have been the equal or better of Chelsea

When Chelsea have concentrated more on defence, whereas we are more open (I'd prefer if we were as defensively tight as Chelsea, so that's not a dig) and Terry has played alongside better defenders. Either way, stats are irrelevant. To accurately judge you'd have to put Terry into the Spurs team (with our tactics) and King into the Chelsea one.

Last four seasons are when King was in decline anyway, go back 7 or 8 and judge them from then.

You do talk some absolute bollocks.

JT is far and away a better player.Period.

If Ledley was that good, he would be a Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea player. A big club and manager would have taken a gamble on him despite his problems with injuries and Asians

So seeing as King himself stated he had damaged his knee on his Spurs debut, he was head & shoulders above Terry for half a game - BRILLIANT!

We will never know who was the better, however Ledley King was a really good player. Without his knee injury I have no doubt he would have been the equal of Terry or Rio, maybe even better, but we will never know.
Bit of a pointless arguement really.

Playing a premier league game is not the highest level as generally only 3 points are on the line. The highest level is playing when victory REALLY matters i.e cup finals, C.L, international tournaments.

If playing Man U is the highest level then the players at Crawley have played at the higest level. :emoticon-0102-bigsm
