Yep. Totally agree,
Smithers.

As I've said elsewhere, it should have been obvious that when the rain stopped, the track would continue to improve, offering the best grip in the final moments. Going out as early as possible couldn't have been a bigger mistake: All they did was disperse water for the other cars, taking the edge off their own tyres at the same time*. Not only that, but it is very difficult to keep temperatures (and necessarily pressures) up whilst they still are dealing with lots of water. Far better to keep the blankets on and go for it at the last moment where the track will also have least water.

– In light of the above, one can only presume that the thinking at Mclaren was that it was likely to rain again.

*N.B. When trying to get one really quick lap on wet tyres, it is vital to use new tyres which 'bite' through the water. This is far more effective than using a tyre which has done a few laps and is slightly smoothed off.

To be fair, Red Bull did the same thing to Webber.

Hopefully such stupid court cases will now be a thing of the past.

And as AG says, Webber got the same treatment; not that that excuses McLaren.

Have I mentioned that I'm not keen on the blundering Sam Michael yet?

I'm certain this wasn't deliberate. Completely and 100%. But Jenson Button even doubted the 'Plan B' call – which probably cost him at least two places!

I have to say i'm also with you Cosi, on not being keen on Sam, until he manages to do something extraordinary the jury will be out, As i've said previously, look at Williams when he was there and then now and now Mclaren

Whilst I'm also a sceptic, in Michael's defence I think a lot of Williams' problems last year were related to their car and inferior engine.

Have all the Mclaren F-boys calmed down yet? I told you they would come good.

<laugh> I think the problem was the Red Bull F-boys hoping they wouldn't.

The f-boys are just annoyed beacuse driver f has been so poor this season. Driver A (and even b and c) have done far better this year.... I did read that right didn't I ;)

My real concern, and it isn't often discussed for obvious reasons, is the behaviour of the w-boys and driver W. It's a messy situation and really needs cleaning up before it gets any worse.
