Australia has great beaches and fantastic weather but watch out if you don't like getting eaten by sharks or stung to death by blue ringed octopus. I know a scuba diving club in northern NSW that has a local dive spot that has a memorial for divers "taken by sharks". Can't let kids play in the garden safely. No pub culture. Weird, juvenile sense of humour. Christmas when it's 90 degrees (awful!) yet they send cards to each other with snow on them. Really. Great people though and a wonderful, competitive edge' to them when it comes to sport.
UK has a great history, a people with a wicked sense of humour and great countryside. The Lake District in sunshine is incredible, as are places like Bala and Snowdon. Terrible, unpredictable weather but in a way that's part of its charm.
I can say these things because I've lived in both and those are my experiences. Agree or not, doesn't matter really. To say one is "better" than the other is wrong. They're just different.
Musty I beleive your PM is a welsh born lady from the rhondda valley

Wow !! ... Quite the witch hunt toward Aussie these days.

Well anyways ..I'm proud of the " English Commonwealth " history in general , and thankful that pilots were able to keep the Germans at bay during " The Battle of England " .
