We won't sign Alex Bruce, we currently have six centre backs, he's just training with us while he finds himself a League One club with no ambition.
You say hoping you are right, when nobody wants him his daddy will not see him signing on, be ready for Bruce junior to sign on the dotted line
Evening Elland. I certainly am hoping we don't sign him ristac, I'm assuming that the **** up that happened when his dad had him at Brum was enough to put the mockers on any potential deal.
Were hardly weaker then last season. We have only really sold Sol Bamba from the team Matt Mills hadnt played for a very long time and he got replaced by Wes Morgan. Zak Whitbread is about to sign along with another centre half and Robert Koren looks a decent possibility With David Nugent, Jamie Vardy, Jermaine Beckford, Marko Futacs, Martyn Waghorn and Jeff Schlupp up front we wont be short for goals. I think we are 2 or 3 players off having a very good squad and with the owners backing should we need to strengthen in Jan or go into the loan market then we can As for Leeds i think it all depends on how long it takes for their takeover to go through if it does. Hull will do well this year and should be pushing play offs depending on if they sign any more decent attacking players to add to what they have. Also how they cope without Jack Hobbs I think Bolton will be the team to beat this season
In all seriousness - I still can't stand your manager but I can't help but admit he is putting together a very useful looking squad (assuming you signed or will be Sone Aluko?)
There is a silver lining in all this for Leeds (he said wishfully) I reckon it will take time for our new squad to gel together. However this championship is probably going to be the most competitive in years with teams taking points of each other all over the shop. Come the January transfer window and assuming we have some money from the takeover (again wishful thinking) we may be in a position to then go on and challenge for one of the play-off spots. That's the best case scenario I can see for us this coming season and I would be bloody greatful as well. We could have been heading for the knackers yard which is division 1 again!
I agree with your statement about Bolton and Leicester are not the bookies favourites for nothing. Marko Futacs looks like a good signing if you can get the crosses to him, which could mean its a be a big season for Neil Danns. I still imagine you will ship more goals that last year without Bamba and Mills. For me Leicester's season will hinge on the off-field confidence, you may sell more players in January.
We havent lost any players that Nigel wanted to keep. The only players we have that still coild leave is Peltier, Konchesky, Beckford and maybe St. Ledger
Apart from Nigel we havent had a good manager since Martin O'Neill We know what Nigel can do and we trust him. After what he did first time around here the fans and the owners will be more patient with Nigel. He is sorting the club out on and off the pitch after Sven made a complete mess of everything We will be alot better then last season now Nigel has managed to keep his own stamp on things
I'm not Bruce's biggest fan either, but he does seem to be doing a good job so far. Aluko has passed his medical and agreed terms, but there might be a bit of a delay while we sort the paperwork with the SFA, due to the Rangers debacle.
How would that make my week if we announced the T/O signed Austin and crept in and snatched Aluko - That would be a pretty spectacular hat trick of events
Just 48 hours ago I was hoping for a triple... We did get Austin, Lost Snodgrass and gained Varney and Gray - Not what I was hoping for. As things stand my prediction 1) Bolton 2) Cardiff 3) Hull 4) Leicester 5) Wolves 6) Huddersfield .. .. 9) Leeds 9th for us is assuming we do buy someone like Maynard who I personally feel is average and Peltier at RB - I can't help feel that Warnock has built us a capable team but when I look through it for star quality I am left wondering.
Ristac, listen to yourself! Don't you think Warnock had a plan in place if Snoddy left? Have patience, man! He's nobody's fool.
Yes no doubt he does Whitejock and it is just my opinion that we are quite a long way behind those 6-8 teams in front of us. Hull already had a fantastic defence, they have made some very good signings. Leicester were finishing strong and they have brought in some new faces, I believe we are slightly better than last season but not delusional to feel we are good enough for a top 6 sorry.. Clayton, Snodgrass, McCormack - That is something like 38 goals and 20 assists to replace
