I think Ganso would cost a little bit more, probably in the £20-30 million price range.

Dzagoev would be a good buy, and he seemed quite keen to test himself in a stronger league straight after the Euros, but I haven't heard anything from him since.

Just throwing out some names for you, Dempsey, Honda and Gourcuff. I say Gourcuff because I imagine Lyon wouldn't be too determined to keep hold of him, and there was a time when he was expected to become a brilliant player, although he hasn't fulfilled his potential. Perhaps Wenger could be the one to get him back on tracks.

Santos are looking to sell Ganso after a fallout between the two, so we could get him if we really wanted him. But as mentioned before, the work permit could be an issue.

I think he likely to head to inter (Brazilian one) now they are selling Oscar.

Some other options
Adam maher
Mateo kovacic ( i personally really like him)
Yohann goucruff (not at all keen)
Eric lamela

Good shout on Honda, would suit the system we play. Plus delivers a mean set piece, him delivering with Vermaelen on the receiving end could be deadly.

I've heard santi cazorla can play in that position too. If we get him I think you can be assured that's it for an am.

Where's Walcott!

I like Walcott alot he's just not an orthodox winger. Oxo would play that role better as he's more of a natural midfielder.

Ganzo would be a truely excellent signing though, seems ready made for the EPL

real is a possibility if they want him. Barca are well stocked in that position though spanish press seem to indicate we are the favourites and have (rumour alert) placed 20mil euro bid.

Do people on here even think we need an AM and if yes, who?
I didn't think it was a priority until I heard about Wilshere and Rosicky on arsenal.com. Now it's priority #1 above getting M'Vila.

We should go for Ganso or Eriksen. Both potentially the best of the best.

Gotze is too expensive and (people will hate me saying this) but slightly over-rated. Dzagoev is WAY over-hyped. Yes, he scored a few goals in Euro 2012 but they were comparitively easy goals. Belhanda I don't know enough about.

Would be a dream signing for us. He's been exceptional wherever he's played.

We disused this a little on another thread but I personally think that this is going to be a massive issue and it needs to be sorted. Rosicky is going to miss the start of the season and Wilshere will only start training around September time. Aaron Ramsey is with team GB and when he came on the other day he was still giving the ball away with simple passes and we can't rely on him anyway. Diaby is fit and is travelling to Asia for the tour but we know all about him and his injury record. All the talk has been about getting M'Villa, a DM or a CM at best, but if we are going to stay with the same system then we need an attacking midfielder to play at the point of the midfield three.

1. Mario Gotze

Age: 20
Club: Borussia Dortmund
Estimated price: £30-50 Mil.

2. Christian Eriksen

Age: 20
Club: Ajax
Estimated Price: £20-25 Mil.

3. Paulo Henrique Ganso

Age: 22
Club: Santos
Estimated Price £15-20 Mil.

4. Alan Dzagoev

Age: 22
Club: CSKA Moscow
Estimated Price: £10-20 Mil.

5. Younes Belhanda

Age:22
Club: Montpellier
Estimated Price: £20-30 Mil.

The above five have been linked to us this summer or the previous one. They are all young and we could build our midfield around them. All very creative and players that can deliver the final pass. Hence the estimated price for all of them. Belhanda seems like a typical Wenger player, in that he comes from Ligue 1 and Wenger has spoken about him in the past. But the price could be a stumbling block there. But for me getting an attacking midfielder has become very important and I would be happy with any of the five at Arsenal. Do people on here even think we need an AM and if yes, who?

1. Not a hope in hell.
2. Wants to go to Barca in 2 years.
3. Possible but pricey.
4. Possible.
5. Possible but committed himself to Montpellier earlier in the summer did he not?

agreed with all and you're right belhanda did in fact commit himself to one more year at montpellier though i don't agree with your eriksen remark. Barca won't make space for him. I personally see him going to italy
