He is with the squad in Asia and we have heard good things about him, but at the moment he is not ready for the first team. He will do well to get into the CC team.
Oh yeah, he's another one for 2/3 years time, should've known No point going for another youngster well off their prime is there? Maybe get another player like Arteta who's got the experience to settle straight in and compete for a place. Cheeky bid for Kaka, maybe?
The players mentioned on this thread have all been playing first team football at a high level unlike Eisfeld, so no point comparing them to him. These players would come straight into our first team, seeing as they have the talent and experience of first team football. So, they are good enough to come and make an impact now.
http://freshfootball.co.uk/#/blog/4560568303/Arsenal-closing-in-on-Cazorla---Hunter/3018505 This suggests Arsenal are ahead of every other club in terms of signing Cazorla.
He's been pretty **** to be honest . Would rather have got another 19 year old German attacking mid from Dortmund, but what can you do! In terms of signing another attacking mid, I can't see us spending big bucks on a good one. I think Wenger might just say that Abou Diaby and Jack Wilshere returning will be like new signings!
Yes we need another attacking MF player, been saying it since Fabregas and Nasri left. For me Goetze would be the obvious choice, but I think he's going to be out of our price range.
Depending on how the Malaga situation turns out, I think we have pretty decent chance of seeing Cazorla here this season. He would be a good addition, quality feet and can play anywhere across midfield.
Cazrola looks good but mainly plays out-wide. (and I think we have enough cover there) If RVP goes we need to show some ambition and go for the likes of Goetze. He would be expensive yes... but who cares? Use the whole RVP fund to land him!! It would be worth it. We dont need to sign BIG money players to compete but in Goetze's case I think an exception could be made. --------------------Sczezney-------------------- Sagna-----Kos/Mert-----Vermaelen-----Santos -----------Song------------Wilshere------------- ------------------Goetze------------------------ Walcott----------Giroud---------------Podolski Bench: Arteta, Rosicky, Gervinho, Gibbs, Diaby, Chamberlain. That's a good looking squad! - If Walcott wants to go bring in Cazrola or Afelley.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO we must sign HONDA!!!! HONNNNDAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! He's basically got all the attributes we need, not afraid to get stuck in, pings the ball around, very creative, can dribble (but not selfish), and delivers a deadly set piece. Basically, he'd more than replace nasri, while at the same time cover the gap left by RVP's set pieces (which are admittedly, not that good)
I'm not sure about him. He could be a success.. He's 6'0, quick and has a decent left foot. There has never been a really successful Japanese player in the EPL. Also he's doing well in a fairly poor Russian league without really being spectacular either. I would pick Goetze ahead of him without a doubt.
The fact that there hasn't really been a good japanese player in the EPL is the fact that, well, no really good japanese players have ever played in the EPL. Plus the decent ones that have come over have been lightweight, which is why I don't think Kagawa will be particularly successful. Honda on the other hand, is much more robust, and doesn't mind getting stuck in a fair bit, whenever you see him play he's all over the pitch (in a good way), and I think he'd be well suited to coming over. plus his hair....MY GOD HIS HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL
Not entirely true. He played in a reserves game the week he got here. Played 45mins and had an assist, played very well. He then got injured and was out for 2-3 months. He made it back for the last reserve game of the season against Newcastle and got the only goal of the game, playing well. He is still U20, very much one for the future, and did not cost a lot. He has travelled to Asia with the squad. Don't be surprised if people know his name by the end of the season.
Yep, which is a bit of a worry with his injury past. I don't think he played particularly well that game tbh, he was okay but didn't exactly stand out in class from anyone else on the pitch which for a 19 year old is a little bit worrying. I saw him play down at Southampton too and he really wasn't very good at all. He has great commitment and is a great fighter, but he really struggles to pick out a good pass and gives the ball away an awful lot. I'll reserve full judgment for this season and see if he does better in the reserves, but unfortunately for him he needs to really start showing something soon as he is nearly 20 and hasn't had a single bench appearance in his career.
Cazorla rumours are really gathering momentum. Think this one might be happening. Ok so we lose RVP (PROBABLY) but we gain.... Giroud Podolski Cazorla ... all quality International players. and we can also hopefully get the return of.. Jack Wilshere Abou Diaby You would have to say it's been a fairly successful summer. A few options... --------------------Sczezney-------------------- Sagna-----Kos/Mert-----Vermaelen-----Santos Cazorla----Wilshere-----Song------Chamberlain --------------------Podolski------------------------ --------------------Giroud------------------------ --------------------Sczezney-------------------- Sagna-----Kos/Mert-----Vermaelen-----Santos -----------Song------------Wilshere------------- ------------------Podolski------------------------ Walcott----------Giroud----------------Cazorla --------------------Sczezney-------------------- Sagna-----Kos/Mert-----Vermaelen-----Santos -----------Song------------Arteta--------------- ---Diaby---------Wilshere-----------Cazorla--- ------------------Podolski----------------------- I do hope we play Podolski down the middle he's soo much more effective there.
I have to be honest, I didn't see that and I watched the entire half he played when he arrived. I thought he played quite well for someone just off the plane trying to pass to people he had never met before. I didn't watch any of the Newcastle game. Still the Boss seems to like him and for a nominal fee, I don't think he was a bad punt. To me he looked dangerous every time he got the ball. I loved his acceleration and urgency when he received the ball, a bit Rosicky like. If I had to guess, I would say Wenger liked the fact that he was pretty quick and had very good technique, was very strong on the ball (as you say) and really went for his passes. That giving the ball away thing isn't always a bad thing in a young player, we don't want players who just want to play sideways, and take the safe option. Obviously the club saw something they thought they could work with, so I'll give them a go at it.
Fc Barcelona coach Vilanova: "We will not sell Afellay. He is part of our main selection and he is a player of great quality, nobody can deny that. We will not be selling him." Source: http://www.nusport.nl/spanje/2865965/vilanova-met-afellay-seizoen-in.html
