15.13 BST: Nene may have been PSG top-scorer last season, but he looks to be heading for the exit door. Reports from Brazil say Corinthians, but A Bola report that he may join Burak Yilmaz (below) at Galatasaray for €12 million.

Worth a punt?

Back at it again <doh>

15.26 BST: Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has issued an ultimatum to Chelsea to meet his £10 million valuation on Victor Moses or end their pursuit of the player.

And of course Dave Whelan already knows whether they will pay it or not.

5. ah yes, Whelan must know something about the Marin and Hazard deals meaning that they will both have to be returned to their previous clubs, plus he obviously knows Hulk is joining Wigan too <whistle>

that moses thing amazed me. I simply can't believe that the kid would want to go there to get no games when top players like mata, marin, hazard and others are there. I know its a big move and lots of money but it could put him back in the championship when he gets sold on.

Still i suppose whelan must know best, he is after all the guy the press turn to in times of trouble.

With Rodgers saying today that the squad is short on numbers, when compared to Spurs i think we will have a few more players in yet. Before the season starts

Think we'll see a few last minute surprises.

we will have to see..... Spurs when adebayor is added still look a little light up front and will also strengthen.

As for us i am still open minded. If allen and dempsey are true links (dempsey confirmed) then I am not sure thats everyone rodgers is looking at. Who knows. he said 3-4 so that would be 3 of the 4.... still 6 weeks to go.

13. Or Moses could just have big ambitions...?

14. But did he expect to lose Kuyt, Maxi and/or possibly Carroll...?

I think most of us expected maxi to go yes?

I think kuyt was on the slide personally as per paisley "let them age on someone else's pitch" I think he knew he was going before he took the job.

I think for the actions over the course of the carroll saga that rodgers has prejudged him. I mean the most he can have done is talked to him on the phone what do you think of it? I just think he doesn't fancy him.

Tottenham will have a decent defense, keeper and midfield and the only question is upfront where so far only defoe is confirmed. when/if adebayor joins that'll be abig but they need more.

I had said in end of may we needed 6 guys cos people would do or were ageing anyway. rodgers says 3-4. so far he's got one and has 6 weeks to go so the squad in my mind is not what he even wants minimum yet...

Rumours about us going for a Barca youngster called Gerard Deulofeu.

EDIT: Some stuff on him.

Born in Riudarenes, Girona, Catalonia, Deulofeu joined FC Barcelona's youth academy in 2003, aged just nine. On 2 March 2011, still registered with the junior team, he made his senior debut, appearing for the B team in a 4–1 away win against Córdoba CF in the second division, coming on as a substitute for Eduard Oriol in the 75th minute.[1]
In late April 2011, Deulofeu was called-up to the senior squad for the first time, for a La Liga match against Real Sociedad on the 29th,[2] but eventually did not leave the bench in a 1–2 away loss. On 3 August, he made his Barcelona first-team debut, in a 1–4 friendly loss against C.D. Guadalajara; three days later, against Club América, he assisted Seydou Keita in the 90th minute of a 2–0 win.
On 16 September, Deulofeu scored his first goal as a senior, in a 1–2 loss at Hércules CF.[3] On 29 October, he made his first official appearance with the main squad, replacing David Villa in the 63rd minute of a 5–0 league home success against RCD Mallorca.[4]

I had a thought. Could Dempsey be being saved for the LFC documentary...

-

Thought I'd share this tweet:

Opta Sports ‏@OptaJoe
15 - Only 4 players (Nani, Silva, A Young & van Persie) have assisted more PL goals than Theo Walcott in the past two seasons. Coveted.

Impressive but think you'd need to look at what they were. Were they runs down the right and clever passes/through balls/crosses or where they simple sideways passes that someone then smashed in from 20yards out? Saying that I do think he's been a decent addition, still only young (23) so has another couple of years until he hits his peak and does chip in with goals. Also has pace which is something we lack down the right.

opta stats mean **** all I'm afraid, Downing had the best cross success in the league the year before last, and yet did **** all last year for us. Stats can only be used in context and are really unreliable

20. I think the suggestion of three or four was just words. It could be one, it could be ten, three or four is the average and so he said it to supplement the media and fans. We'll sign who we sign and as I said immediately after the 'three or four' comment, it all depends on who is available and at what price. We shouldn't sign players for the sake of signing them, we should only sign players that the manager believes will improve the first team IMO (yes, first team, not squad!) On the other side of the coin, if we signed four players that the manager had meant with his comment (just for arguments sake), then what is to say if a quality player at a bargain price won't became available? Surely we wouldn't ignore it because we had already signed four and that was the maximum the manager was committing to?

In short, I think we do as much business as we need to /can do in this window. Can't say fairer than that <ok>
