    15.55 Ascot- Top Cop- 10/1

Still very unexposed and showed he had something abaout him when narrowly beaten in a hot handicap at Newmarket by Mince who won very well that day. Lto was disappointing but you if you can excuse that because if the ground, he should go close

    16.30- Ascot- Poole Harbour- 9/1

Is seeking a hat-trick. This is a very competitive handicap. Was rejuvanted and showed some class when switching to the Polytrack last month than won again in a handicap on the grass @ folkestone. I just feel there is alot more to come from this Hannon 3 yr old. And at 9/1 is a pretty decent e/w punt as place claims should be the minimum he will get but the e/w value I can see disappearing by off time tomorrow

    ELNA BRIGHT - (Ascot, 15:55) 14/1

Won here in September and career best to take Wolverhampton handicap last November. Eye-catcher on all 3 turf runs this year, markedly so at Sandown last time, and interesting off current mark.

    STREET POWER
    - (Ascot, 16:30) 25/1

Ended losing run in good style over 7f at Kempton in March and good second over C&D in May.

    FITZ FLYER - (Pontefract, 19:35) 33/1

Looked the type to do well for the switch to current yard and duly shaped with promise when fifth at Doncaster on return.

    THUNDERBALL - (Ascot, 15:55) 18/1

Better than ever this year, winning for second time over C&D in May.

    CALDERCRUIX - (Ascot, 16:30) 54/1

Registered second AW win at Southwell (6f) in March, and not discredited in 3 starts since.

    ELUSIVITY - (Newmarket, 19:15) 3/1

Career best ¾-length third to subsequent July Cup winner Mayson in Palace House Stakes over C&D in May, and eye-catching late headway (in blinkers) at Sandown last time after being badly checked.

    TROJAN ROCKET - (Newmarket, 19:50) 5/1

Thirving at present, scoring for new yard over C&D in May, and repeating that feat when getting up close home to beat 2 of these last time (good second in between). Commands respect once again

Shoooooooooooorrrly PEASHOOTER can get back to winning ways by taking a big drop in class and prevailing in the 15:05 at Haydock ?? Been tried in good races , been well backed and come up short .. this is a real chance to get back in the winners enclosure for a horse they rate... and currently trading at 13/2 ...good luck today to all ..

So i will be looking at the card for Haydock to see if i can help or hinder my mates, like they will listen anyway...<laugh>

Lets hope for a good day then...<cheers>

I don't often come on the Daily string but I am today as although the 4.30 Ascot looks very competitive I can't see past MAGIC SECRETand will be having a substantial investment today.

Afternoon guys and thanks for the daily thread Wooly <ok>, good to see you around Ardent looks like a decent days racing with some nice prices to be had in the Handicaps.

Had a bit of time to study today so my fancies have a little bit of thought in them, rather than my normal pinsticker selections (kiss of death there):

    Ascot

3.20 Romeo Montague 6/1 was impressive LTO when he led at the 2f marker at Ascot over 2m 5f in much better company than is on show here today, drops back to 2m today which should suit.

3.55 Lexis Hero 12/1 (EW) edging down to his winning mark of 95 when he won in similar company at York at a very nice price of 20/1, with Jamie Spencer on board he should go close again today, interestingly the six times he has been on board the horse has finished 2-1-1-1-2-4 and in all of his defeats has only been beaten 8l and is the stables only runner here today.

4.30 Appolo D'Negro 12/1 (EW) running on well LTO and is upped in distance and Class here today, however, his last race suggested to me he will be winning soon and todays price of 12/1 looks the value bet of the day for me.

5.05 Starwatch 16/1 (EW) with young Twiston Davies on board and claiming 7lb he is 2lb better off than his last winning mark and is plenty good enough to run a big race at this level with conditions that should suit.

5.35 Opera Buff is the standout horse for me in a pretty average Apprentice Handicap, which shouldnt take too much winning. His first run in Handicap company was on the AW which was his first time on that surface, and is switched back to turf today which should suit him, his best race to date was without doubt when he finished 8l behind Coup De Ville in Class 1 Listed Company, he has since raced in the 2000G and finished 5l behind the very talented Camelot, on that form alone my selection is much better than a 75 rated Handicapper and is a stand out EW bet. Interestingly Sylvester Kirk has two runners in this race today and any market move would be significant.

    Haydock

2.00 Highland Duke 5/1 - one that has plenty of scope and was noted running on in a similar event LTO over 8f, with todays claimer he runs off a 7lb lower weight and the extra 2 furlongs should be enough for this progressive type to get off the mark in Handicap Company for a stable that does well in this type of race.

3.05 Tip Top Gorgeous 6/1 looked like a horse that would be winning a race soon LTO, when narrowly defeated by the very nice Sir Mark Prescott trained Athenian, today she drops a grade and has a useful 7lb claimer on board and should go close.

3.40 Macdillion 11/2 a rare Northern raid for trainer Stuart Kittow who sends this one to Haydock and is his only runner there today, suggesting he may be looking for the right type of race for him. Hasnt been at his best lately but off this lowely mark he wont be far away and showed plenty of promise LTO when finishing 2nd in a similar event LTO when beaten 4l by the short priced favourite.

4.50 Pistol 7/2 another sole runner at a Northern track for SMS, something that is becoming a tip on its own lately, however, after a very poor FTO in Handicap company the first time fitting of visors for Pistol may be enough to point him the direction of the winning line today.

5.25 Buzz Law 5/1 with his claimer on board today he runs off an absolutely cracking mark, noticeably there has been money for him this morning suggesting that the stable think he will go close, he is 8lb better of for his win over C&D in August last year.

Im off out on my bike now will be back later to pick up my millions, good luck today guys and girls be lucky <cheers>

Where did you get the 14's? That was a good price. I took 12s last night and he's been backed all morning; now best priced 7/1.

Good luck. I'm considering whether to lay it off now. What do you reckon?

    Afternoon all <ok>

Not one I will be going mad on but Ainama looks to hold a very decent chance in the big race at Kilbeggan this evening (20.30). He won a similarly competitive event last time out off 119 at Roscommon and goes up 6lbs for that, but the way he stuck his neck out under strong driving from Niall Madden showed that he relishes a battle and he remains on a workable mark here. Small stakes only though as there seem to be a few plots in this one - Gigginstown looking to win their own race with the lightly raced Tackmaster and another ex-Nicky Henderson trained horse Victrix Gale down the bottom, who is really coming to hand for Tony Martin.

    Good luck to everyone <ok>

Goodness me. I thought I had been very clever on that race.

    £100ew at 12/1
Laid off at 7/1 £100 win

So, if unplaced I lose £100
    If placed I make £300
    If win I make £800

Nice position to be in. Except it lost

With the Fahey team now having 7 winners from their last 9 runners I think you've got to play on his newcomer in the 6.25 Pontefract Laudate Dominum 6/1. Rather likeable type on paper and Fahey has an 18% strike rate at the track. Barry McHugh takes the ride tonight and had a 15% strike rate on Fahey's juveniles and when taking Fahey's blistering form into account he certainly looks well worth a bet to me.
