Hmm, should I revive the Mouse Watch thread with the news that Luis Suarez is banging on about unfair treatment for racially abusing Patrice Evra?
I have Mouser Watch #2 already running The original Mouser Watch thread got merged with another thread for no apparent reason.
Man City drew the second of their pre season stuff 0-0. So that's two matches, one against and zilch for and with a full team out.....hmmmm!
OH JOY!!! Talk of the Chavs going after Maicon...... Bale should be licking his lips in anticipation. Get that taxi number ready!
I still cannot get over Cech saying that he wants Chelsea to be the first club to retain the CL trophy! What a joker! I'd love to have a few jars with him. I bet he'd have you in stitches all bloody night!
Chelsea have a very good player in Oscar, I thought he stood out last night, better than Hazard imo. I wonder where they'll all fit into a 1st team though (they won't!).
Chelsea City Arsenal and Utd all have stronger looking squads than us ATM We'll do well to finish 5th, unless we buy and quickly.
I'm not so sure. Yes, CFC undoubtedly has a better squad than we do, but for me there is a massive question mark against RDM (the player's mate-manager). Surely, his luck cannot last for a whole season? We've all seen how harshly the Russian deals with those who fall out of favour (the man sacked Ancelotti and Mourhino ffs!), and I think that RDM has got to be top of the list - along with Brendan Rodgers - for "first high-profile scalp to get sacked by Christmas" prize. As for AFC, I think that even the Gooners are now resigned to losing RvP. That will be a massive blow for them. He was their captain, their talisman, their hero, their entire team. Without him, they might have been fighting a relegation battle last season. The key question for them will be, how well and how quickly can their new strikers settle into a goal-scoring pattern? If AVB can be for us the manager that he was a Porto, and not the manager he was at CFC, I can see us having a decent chance of finishing in the top 4, again.
We're still putting our squad together, we need at least 3 more players so it's a bit early to be comparing.
Hmm... "I only had a meeting with the doctor, nothing else. I haven't signed any contract yet," he said when asked about the Champions League winners' interest. "I will wait until the end of the Olympic Games to decide my future. "All Brazilian players have this dream. I have, like everybody, the dream to play in Europe and the Premier League." Showing real commitment to joining, isn't he?
YV, I don't think it's too early to be comparing at all. The new season is four weeks away, and we have not one striker able to lead the line, it's a shambles. I'm well pleased with JV and GS, they're fantastic signings, but they'll mean jack if we start up at Toon with JD leading the line. If I was confident that we'll start spending the necessary in the next fortnight to match the 'new big 4' squads, I'd be a lot happier. But after all the brave talk of a new Spurs, a new ENIC, it's just more of the same old penny pinching isn't it? Yes on our model that's what we have to do, but on our model we don't challenge for the title at the business end of the season.
hbic - So it would seem, he's had a medical there, just naturally assumed that was it, weird thing to say now, I hadn't seen that.
No denying that once again we're in danger of entering the season with an unhappy star playing going on strike or demanding to leave and being short in attack. No need to panic yet as in the space of 2 weeks we could well have two new signings and modric could be off to real madrid but the clock is ticking!
Ashley Cole joined Twitter and decided that this was the best response he could think of to Arsenal fans' taunts: please log in to view this image They didn't appreciate it, apparently.
