When Most people attended some for of religious service each week or at least admitted to a religion. Homosexuality was not spoken about. Racism was rife but not seen as racist just an everyday norm, Gollywogs on jars, Black and White Minstrels and Till Death us do Part. The word *****phile had not been invented. A woman's place was at home and making sure her man's dinner was on the table when he returned from work. Many woman had no idea what her husband earned. Sex was a man's right and woman's duty. Forcing your wife to have sex was not rape. A woman in the club was either a bar maid or cleaner, or pregnant. Giving your kids a good old dose of the slipper or belt was good discipline. Giving your wife a clip round the lug was keeping her in her place. Sunday at the club was 6 strippers, a blue comedian then home to give your wife a treat. Oh the good old days, well maybe not that good after all.
Aye but you remember Victoria on the throne and didn't you send your kids down the pit and up chimneys to work.
The word *****phile had not been invented. It's true! There were no *****philes when I was young, we had to buy our own sweets!
You could leave your doors wide open and go out as well. thats because you all had **** all to steal (No TVs etc).
Remember when an accident was an accident and not a law suit? Villa pop, return the empties & get 2 pence back.

Now we've gone to the next extreme. Women are over protected. Men need to act like castrated monks, or they're perverts.
Some Memories from an old pitman (Johnny Curry from Wheatley Hill)........we don't know how well we have it nowadays!!!!!!!! We met, and we married a long time ago We worked for long hours when wages were low; No TV, no wireless, no bath, times were hard Just a cold water tap and a walk down the yard; No holidays abroad, no carpets on the floor We had a coal fire, and we didn’t lock doors; Our children arrived, no pill in those days And we brought them up, without any state aid; They were safe going out to play in the park And old folks could go for a walk in the dark; No valium, no drugs, no LSD We cured most ails with a good cup of tea; No vandals, no muggings, there was nothing to rob We felt we were rich with a couple of bob; People were happier in those far off days Kinder and caring in so many ways; Milkman, and paper boy, would whistle and sing And a night at the pictures was all a mad fling; We all got our share of struggle and strife We just have to face it that is the pattern of life; And now I’m alone I look back through the years I don’t think of bad times the trouble and tears I remember the blessings, our home and our love, And that we share them together “Thank God Above.
****ing idiot. Men need to chat birds up and put a bit of effort in, treating them like people and not blow up dolls. Nowt wrong with that. You need castrating because your seed in the gene pool is bad for mankind.
