Please explain a few things for me:-

    a) What rationality does this post show? Where does the modern era start (please don't say the day you were born)?
    b) What intelligence does this post show? Is your claim to intelligence validated by teacher sticking a shiny star on your homework?
    c) Judging by a) and b) who has delusions of grandeur?

If I was going to list the 7 billion most intelligent people in the world today, you might just scrape on the list but I doubt You'd feature very highly.

I believe the intentions at the start of the season was to employ a zonal marking system, but due to so many injuries in defence no particular style of defending was consistent when marking set pieces.

    Gilberto Silva.

Spain's current formation is based around possession football, they pack the midfield with with all sorts of central midfield based players and use that great strength to attack through the middle. The full backs, in Jordi Alba and Alvaro Arbeloa are constantly running up and down the line providing the width. The defence, consisting of Pique and Ramos is greatly helped buy Sergio Busquets who would often join up with them in a sweeper role creating a 3 man defence as the rest of the team was playing their way up the field.

Alonso would provide the stability in midfield while Busquets dropped back. Xavi would play as the deep lying playmaker and box to box midfielder. Fabregas would operate in a similar role to Messi's at Barcelona, known as the false 9. Iniesta and Silva were the inside forwards, mainly playing as left and right attacking midfielder's but with a lot of freedom to roam into the center to give more strike power, Alba and Arbeloa would be on the overlap to provide any width as Silva and Iniesta coming inside would create space for the full backs to run into.

    Thanks goonercymraeg.

To be fair, I think he's the worst WUM in history - I think he tries but we just tease him a bit in quite an affectionate manner (like when you get lumbered with your friends children).

    Good luck for next season.

I think we should adopt The Ziatan and help him not be rude to him... he is my little Padawan so let him be please and I am sure we can help him turn in a QPR follower ... why else is he here if not to learn? He can't exactly wind anyone up can he?

We have played man marking for years, this season he tried to employ zonal marking but couldn't do it properly because we never had a stable defence.

I agree, he was never properly replaced either.

There's only so many things I can say, it's not the easiest thing to explain tactics and formations in writing.

    No. I never.

Do you have a Scalextric or are you more digital? You should come to France with me and watch Montpellier ... its a beautiful thing ... Montpellier won the Lique One from PSG who are massive in a massive city. Montpellier had ambition from being a very lowly outfit and now Giroud plays for you ... my point is we can all be big stars at anytime.

Oh home time now sleep well sunshine

No, I don't own a Scalextric. I know who Montepellier are. They have several player who I would like to see in an Arsenal shirt, we already have Giroud. Belhanda, Yanga-Mbwia, Remy Cabella. I know who Paris Saint-Germain are as well.

Language is an interest of mine, I've always been told I've a way with words.

That or I'm good at talking rubbish <whistle>

And yes, despite Sinn Fein's best efforts our education system is pretty good - although we have our fair share of problem cases!

And ah... the lingering sense of boredom and pity that follows a post from 'The Zlatan' (if that's what he's currently calling himself).

There's no-one like him Matt. Its the likes of him that make these Boards so addictive.

(P.S. Stan, NI REV does have an exceptional grasp of the English language but he doesn't like the use of metaphors. I learned that to my cost............)
