Something tells me that this will be a valuable lesson for QPR, they'll go down, recuperate, and return in a season or two; providing you don't go crazy buying all sorts of players again and putting them on obscenely high wages. You also need a manager with the right intentions, preferably a foreign one that plays football the right way. I think you're right when you say that you think your players could do a better job elsewhere, not all of them mind, but the ones you'd expect. The problem was that they saw QPR as a stepping stone (Granero, M'Bia, Hoilett, Remy) and others saw it as a nice retirement home (Cesar, Park, Bosingwa) leading to a clash of interests. Just no stability in the squad and players not gaining the motivation to do anything worthy.
I thought he looked great in his first couple of games for us, although, unlike some on here, I wasn't quite ready to hail him as the new messiah. Since then, he's looked awful: slow, gets caught in possession, unimpressive passing ability etc. etc. I can't see him coming good for us but he'll probably go off to some team like Barcelona and become an automatic pick for their starting eleven!
What i found strange yesterday was that he seemed to be under orders to mark Fellani, and it was such a mis match, Fellani just muscled him out of the way most of the time....
I think there's a lot of truth in this. Granero was and will be again I expect be a very good player. Hoilet as well, probably. I still hope they will remain and become great players again with us, but for that the reasons why they haven't done as well as they should with us need to be identified and sorted.
yep...gotta put my hands up. For me Granero has always been a good player. not sure why I hasn't worked at qpr but certain he'll go to another club and become a star. HANDS UP boys ( & wife) I got this one totally wrong!
Interesting. A truth and reconciliation commission was mooted at the start of this season. First DT. Now you. Who is next?
He plays a Spanish game perfect example of how it's hard to adapt between the two styles : I am on record as preferring the Euro way having played a bit in France ... Even at my low level back then couldn't get back to the English game esp on five a sides . The big difference between it all? The sun for those who have tries to play football on a hot summers day times that by 10 you have half your answer ... To play and keep the ball is accepted there and therefore the game is slower it seems but in fact the ball is moved quicker between players that is to say its gone before a Jamie Mackie type can get in your face Playing a high pressing game always works but then technical ability takes over you knock it around and keep that principle then you have well... Swansea It will great to see how they do in Europe good luck to them and Granero would be ideal for them IMO
Waiting for someone to do the same on a Tarbs thread mate.......plenty of you out there..who's gonna be first then?...come on...?
Right now Adel is my player of the season. Bosingwa and Clint are the only other candidates I can think of. Good enough?!
Behave will ya... remy, townsend, Ceasar, Nelson. Zamora dont figure then? All achieved more in shorter time. Clint Hill, really. i love this guy but Saurez showed exactly why he shouldnt be with us. i believe Townsend has got the recdord for the most dribbles in a prem match hasnt he. You need to have another look mate
Sorry...no...if he had put more effort into that penalty, perhaps we wouldn't be in this position. I would have said Clint, but he is progressively getting worse. I would have said Nielsen, who didn't put a foot wrong but then he left us in the lurch I would say Remy and Townsend, but they have only played half a season I would have said Cesar for his magnificent saves that kept us in the hunt in the middle of the season, but since his Brazilian call up, his attitude has stunk. No idea!
Gave behaving up for Lent about 50 years ago, and forgot it ended, I'm with you on Remy, Townsend, and Nelsen for the periods they been with us, but I was only really considering players who have been with us most of the season. The 3 who I mentioned are the only ones who been here about all season and have done more than OK for me. I agree Clint has got pulled apart by the very top strikers but most games he's been the organiser and main man back there. Bosingwa has always done ok for me, sometimes he's been very good. Adel has been under utilised, he could have done more maybe, but what he has done with his top class goals, assists, and sparking recoveries when he's come off the bench make him Player of the Season for me, unless something spectacular happens last 5 games - like we stay up with a Clint goal a game in the right end!
