I don't mate but then they've all had different bits of info, on Twitter especially. I saw some of Valencia Yids posts, found it 50-50 with him (as I have with most to be fair), some are on the ball, the others no way near it. To be honest though I've only truly believed the info I've got from my mates contact and he's got everything right so far - AVB (made a thread on that weeks ago), Sig (actually said Sig would be done 24 hours after AVB), Bale's new deal was mentioned ages ago and now he's adamant Verts and Ade will be done by/ over the weekend. I gues come Monday we'll find out if he keeps his 100% record!

Now I know you're all thinking - "Who the f*ck is Keith?!" Well Keith seems to be someone behind the scenes at Sky Sports News who's "got his fingers in pies" and reckons Modric AND Van der Vaart are STAYING! And by the sounds of it, Ade (which I've already mentioned in previous posts - catch up Sky Sports ) is coming. Hopefully this vid stays live, click at 17 mins exactly and have a listen to this 15 second convo when the interval occurs. If it's taken down by the time I wake up tomorrow morning, the conversation goes: Person 1: Well according to Keith he's staying put. Person 2: According to who? Person 1: Keith Person 2: Oh, how does Keith know, is he a... Person 1: Well he's got... Fingers in pies. Person 2: So you're saying Modric is thought... Person 1: Apparantly Modric is staying, Van der Vaart's staying, Adebayor's com.......... And that's where the audio is switched off. So whoever Keith "with his fingers is pies" is, clearly has heard/ knows some info that gives the impression our Croatian Magician and Dutch Maestro are indeed, sticking with the club. Brilliant news if correct. EDIT - here's the link - http://link.brightcove.com/services...YDLGSh2yu4XruBQh1N8XmHpc9&bctid=1723291307001
Sh*t sorry guys, just noticed you made these posts, I've created a thread about this Keith fella with the dialogue of the convo in it, if the mods want to merge it, feel free.
Sounds like a load of carp to me. Modric staying will depend on us not receiving a satisfactory offer for him by the first of september, and that is totally out of our hands.
Few whispers going about that this deal is imminent. I was a bit critical of Ade last season - although he netted 17 and assisted 11 I felt his conversion rate was actually poor and I despaired at the amount of times he got into good positions then shot straight at the keeper. That said, his return was still very decent and he had about 3 legit goals ruled out, plus he brought a lot to the team in terms of his overall play. For £5mil I think he'd be a bargain assuming we can sort something out with his wages. My main reservation is what this would do for our ongoing striker issues - we all know Levy is the sort of bloke who eats a tin of beans on Tuesday so he can have a bubble bath on Wednesday, would the signing of Ade amount to us not pursuing another striker such as Damiao?
Adebayor was deceptive last season - sometimes he can disappear a bit but his link up play with VdV and his positioning helped Bale and Lennon too. I hope we do resign him - that said, if we stick him on a long contract he may do what he did at Arsenal and Man City and be content to do nothing and just pick up his wage packet. With regards to Damiao - I think we can all forget that. Damiao has repeatedly stated that he wants to stay at Internacional, which elevates his price even further past £20m. I can't see Adebayor affecting us too much though - I'd be very surprised to see us go into next season with just Ade and Defoe as our primary frontline strikers.
It's a bargain in terms of the fee to Man City, but overall, it's not that much of a bargain. £5m fee to Man City + £5m signing on fee to Ade + £110,000 a week wages. That's going to add up over a 3 or 4 year contract! When you consider there is no real re-sell value, it's not particularly cheap!
