But what, exactly, would a "technical director" do? That just sounds like one of those made-up jobs, to me.
Take part with board in player transfers, contracts, all the admin associated with team matters, leaving the 'coach' to do just that, coach. Also allows Levy more time to spend on the overall business plan, new stadium etc.
From the same tip off I got the AVB info from, reckons Ade could be signed very soon. As in a few days. Really hope it's true.
Sorry mate all I've heard is about Ade. I always pop over to SC though to see if they hear the same, they too reckon Ade is close and say Verts and Remy will be done by early next week (though Verts has been done for about 5 weeks on the trott now according to some of them ) also say a bid has definitely gone in for Oscar. One of 'em reckoned that we're negotiating for a Madrid player - whether that's to be included in the Luka deal or not they didn't say, nor did they mention a name and another bit I read said Gallas is likely to sign for West Ham. Not sure how reliable the info is but I hope it's true.
very interesting mate. if true, i'm curious to know who the madrid player is, seeing as it's been reported that Sahin and Higuain aren't interested.
The technical director job is probably partly youth development, part coaching and part scouting, if it's going to Sherwood. He ruled out another Championship loan for Kane today and he seems to be involved in various parts of the club already. The Real Madrid player that the ITKs are hinting at is probably Diarra. His contract talks have stalled and he's only got a year left. They're making this **** up though, obviously.
I've always liked the look of Kane. Reminds me so much of a young Keano - linking the play and also getting on the end of things, though he has another advantage of being quite tall too. Lets be honest guys, I'm the only one ITK around here AVB - Tick Ade - Very soon (Could be weekend announcement!) Got a text about Verts too - Similar to Ade. Was told that basically AVB/ Spurs want to get Verts and Ade before training starts (Monday). Really hope it's true. Fingers and toes crossed!
haha, another defensive midfielder? SOS, get on the blower and find out more! someone on twitter earlier said that apparently spurs' lawyers were responsible for our socks not being blown off...dun dun duunnnnnn!!! Go on tin tin, find out and report back to us
Wish I could mate but the tip off comes from a mate who gets the info from some guy (he won't tell me the f*cking name!) he speaks to on Blackberry Messenger. So far, the texts I got from my mate were: AVB being new Spurs manager which I posted a thread about. Bale signing a new deal - I thought it was b*llocks so didn't say anything. Sig would be done straight after AVB. And now Ade and Verts SHOULD be done before Monday.
SL - have a mate who works in sports journalism. No media blackouts that he knows of i'm afraid. He'd also not heard anything about a takeover. Of course, he could be telling porkies due to the media blackout to cover up the takeover
A work colleague of mine is adamant that we've sold the naming rights of the stadium to some Arab/ Kuwaiti company for £100m+. He's got loads of connections with Spurs (managed to organise a friendly against Spurs Legends in September) so I'd believe him.
this was in the Graham Roberts Talksport interview I posted yesterday. (due to be in the next couple of days) He spoke of a few other things, including tim sherwood being DOF, which we are currently lead to believe isn't the case? also, modric being sold was something the club have been planning, but they were going to keep bale here at all costs, which they've done.
They didn't check that we won't move into our new stadium for at least three, more likely four, years?
Regarding my Sherwood to be Technical Director comment, have.Millwall.inadvertently given us some news!? https://mobile.twitter.com/search/#Millwall Ade and Vertonghen to be training with us next week Zek Fryers will join at some point too, providing we consider the tribunal fee to be acceptable. Remy a possibility, but less likely than. Oscar as it stands. Not that signing one will affect signing the other, I'm just comparing.
I've been assured now that Ade and Verts are already Spurs players. Just waiting for announcement on the OS. Brilliant news if true.
