I heard that we actually won the penalty shoot out against Italy but Platini made Uefa showed us all previously recorded footage from past England shoot outs. My suspicions were roused when they showed Gareth Southgate's dismal penalty being saved, especially as he was in the studio at the time. I now realise this is why we think we've never won a major competition for 46yrs when in fact we've won several.

Edit; Bugger, Lff's beaten me to it.

I'd be interested in knowing just how delayed the broadcasts are. I'm okay with a few seconds, so long as I'm seeing honest footage.

An awful lot can happen in a few seconds. "Live" pictures in betting shops are on average about 6 seconds behind the real event, sufficient time to give a significant advantage to people on site betting on the "in-play" markets.

Tv has done this sort of thing for years. Recorded interviews, where the end of politicians sentences are cut, to make what they have said sound completely different or stupid.

Unless it's Cameron, then they don't need to bother.
