Have to say if he doesn't join Spurs this summer because we won't meet his wage demands, I will hold no grudges, because the work he is doing with his money is truly commendable.

Say all you want about him as a footballer, but as a man he seems like a top guy. He's been doing stuff like this for years hasn't he? Doesn't Drogba do similar things?

He also does a lot of work with Toure if I'm not mistaken, as they are different (warring) tribes, and they have done a lot to reduce tensions between the two groups. On a field, cheating bstard, off the field, hero.

Like I have said many times, the word 'mercenary' introduced by our **** media is wholly inappropriate, particularly in Ade's case who has a whole new outlook on life since his team bus episode in Togo.

Really hope that we can get this deal done.
He was excellent for us last season, but we need to not only get him in on a permanent deal, but sign suitable back-up, too.
    Tough ask.

  12. 100% agree with this mate. Ade was an absolute star for us last year - not only the goals and assists, but also the superb attitude he showed when the wheels started coming off. In my eyes, he totally disproved the image that had been circulating. He was a positive influence for us and I reckon we were for him too.

That picture (with the kids) actually gladdens the heart, which in this day and age is a (unfortunate) rarity.

There's been all these rumours about new investors giving a boost to our financial resources. Bale gets a new contract which is "much nearer 100k than 70k" (not my words), which is a dramatic change to our wage structure. Ade, who had been previously written off because of wages is suddenly back on, and we are even being rumoured to getting Higuain as a part of any Modric deal (as much as I want this to be true, I can't see it, but the following point still stands).

It seems our circumstances have changed, or are about to change. I'm not talking a Man City style takeover here, but there is investment coming soon.

Also, and this is off topic for this thread, so apologies, but has anyone else heard about this so called media blackout on something occurring at Spurs? This links into a partial takeover too. Players / stadium news has never faced a media blackout before, so if true, it all points to investment! But it's all rumours, not claiming any of this to be ITK whatsoever!

    http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/foo...targets-175612

This is an interesting interview with Graham Roberts. Yes it's on Talksport, but Graham Roberts is obviously a decent source. He says that there is major Arab investment supposedly coming into the club.

This links to Alan Brazil who said a few days ago that there was major news to be announced next week regarding Spurs that will "blow your socks off". At the same time, there was plenty of supposed ITK (so I immediately reached for the salt) about invesment (possibly stadium naming rights) or a partial takeover but with Levy remaining in charge. Since then, Brazil backtracked and said he only meant it as AVB joining, acting all innocent now, but he said the blow your socks off line when AVB was 1/12 to join us - hardly mind blowing stuff.

Like I say, it's rumours, but something is afoot. And like I say, this ties in with the timing of us deciding to break our rigid wage structure. Coincidence? We'll see.

Charity is best done in small projects. When I've worked on charity accounts I've never worked for any that take a wage and as a result all give over 90% directly to the cause. But I digress...

Anyone know what Ade has set up/gives too? If we're going to endure constant price rises to fund our millionaire team, it'd be nice to know a certain amount is going to a genuine, good cause.

I heard the first interview with Roberts where he said Sherwood would be D of F for sure. While Sky were saying he will categorically not be. Which was strangely strong, as if trying to play it down. Roberts also was asked if he had good relations now at WHL, said yes but maybe not after this interview LOL.

SO it does seem something might be about to happen, or maybe NOT about too happen that was going too.

My guess is Sherwood to be "technical director". If Levy's clever (which we all know he usually is), he won't have a position called Director of Football, because that title now has a bit of a stigma at WHL. Technical director is essentially the same thing but would avoid the criticism of "moving backwards" which would be given to him should we have a DoF. This could explain the clear contradiction between Roberts and Sky.
