Another one jumps the Rangers ship. John Fleck has joined Coventry. Christ, I thought he was meant to be a bright, young prospect not long ago.

Everton have singed Naismith from Rangers. That's three definate signings from Rangers to other clubs (Norwich and Sion) that have taken advantage of the "free" transfer. I wonder if we are interested in Steven Davis if we are thoroughly checking out the legal situation on their contracts. It will be interesting to see if Rangers try anything legally to stop these transfers/signings.

Apparently we aren't after Davis .

Butterfield's attacking play is on the same level of overrated as Charlie Adam. Try 20 Hollywood balls a game, waste possession 19 times, pull off a stunner once and bathe in the plaudits.

Butterfield is about as fast as my 93 year old grandad aswell. But still better then Harding :p

Indeed. And yet when people talk about what we need to sign in this transfer window, every other response includes the words "a new RB".
It's more because of Butterfield than Richardson - Butterfield was good *cover* for Richardson in the Championship, but is far too slow for the Prem IMO. I have no problem with Richardson & personally think he's a better crosser of the ball and better positionally than Danny Fox. Hell, I'm very worried about Fox's positional play, he'll be found out massivly in the Prem - I think he'll end up as cover for Buttner if we get that deal.

<laugh> Nixon makes up alot of bull **** to, like Everton going in for Rodriguez etc. Haven't seen Peach do that yet, unless I missed it

He said they were considering a bid if they could raise funds, but obviously that never transpired so it's impossible to know if he was telling the truth or not on that one. Convenient, you might say!

Nixon was also near dead-certain that we'd sign Collins back in Jan. Even speculated about a month ago that Cortese was about to ditch Adkins, to get a bigger name in. Oh, and weren't we apparently Rob Green last month too.

Can't say I really trust, nor care, what comes out of Nixon's mouth any more.

We were Rob Green? Yikes...

The problem with Nixon is that he's paid to write stories for the paper, and he has a deadline. Even if he has no news, he has to write something.

Rumours are that Vitesse replied to our offer for Buttner with a simple text message - "We want more." Dutch people claim our offer was "trashy". If true, that would mean we want installments while Vitesse want all the money upfront.

Vladimir Weiss has said a few Prem teams looking to buy him. Hopefully we are one :)

Not sure where you get that conclusion from. More likely QPR offered more cash and we're playing hardball knowing that the player prefers to come to us. I'm sure a compromise will be reached.

I'm guessing Cortese is keen on installments in all of his deals. Buttner's potential to become a full international will be a factor in the money part of it.
