    Cove on the NUFC board is Dutch and seems to know his way around the Eredivisie...might be the man to ask if Buttner signs.

    It was a tongue in cheek comment. Also, De Ridder wasn't anywhere near the Belgium set-up from what we know.

    The Dutch in the comments below seem to think he should've gone to Euro2012 if that's any consolation.

    Although the QPR and Saints fans saying "Welcome to (club name)" is a bit embarrassing.

    They edited most of his goals and amazing passes out, so people don't get their hopes up to much.

    Just done a quick search for his name on Twitter and here is what the Dutch have been tweeting in the last hour or so:


    "If the clubs come out Buttner to Southampton .. Vitesse"

    "Buttner almost Southampton"

    "Buttner wss to Southampton matter, only the clubs have yet to agree!"

    "So Buttner leaves for England"

    "There goes Buttner haha" - an opposition fan



    Then there is a conversation with a football writer covering German and Dutch football:

    @agungharsya: the Alexander Büttner, more than choosing to Southampton, QPR, Fulham. There is an opinion? :)...

    @syyosep06: As I've said, the style of play for England who Buttner physically fit. Suits tough style of play & Soton ..

    I wouldn't be suprised if the Butland deal has all but been finalised either , just a feeling I have.
