Calm down guys, transfer window only opened today, never likely much was going to be announced before now. Let's give them another couple of weeks, then we can jump on their backs <laugh>

Technically, the domestic window opened three weeks ago. Today is the day that international transfers can start taking place.

Damn it when did Guthrie sign for reading i wanted him :( but if you look at the list of players signed we have signed the least out of the three promoted sides

It's a naturally biased opinion but I think we had the best squad from the three teams anyway. West Ham had the name players and it looks like big Sam is treating this window as he did the last two and snapping up as many decent players as possible and hoping to mold something from that.
Reading have made some good purchases to add to the team. Guthrie is a good player to go alongside leigerwood. The Russian looks like a good finisher, whether is overall game is strong enough is open to debate.

As for signings proving more difficult I think we suffered a set back on Butland. His price skyrockets after his England call up.

Guthrie is the same type of player as Cork and Morgan. Players that work their socks off and break down play. So what would be the point in getting him?.

I don't even think we have made a bid yet tbh.

There's nothing wrong with Guthrie but I don't think he's any better than what we've got, Newcastle did let him go for free after all, and I am getting the impression more and more that Nigel sees Morgan and Cork as his first choice pairing. I doubt that we were ever interested in signing him anyway.

I doubt we were in for Guthrie, but either way I'm not fussed. I don't overly rate him, and I certainly don't rate him above Morgan or Cork.

"It may be that I am here today for the last time on the field. I have my eyes on transfer at Southampton. If you're in the Premier League to play, you may be very proud" said Büttner after his last training of Vitesse.

Found that on some Dutch website.

Do we need another LB?

As back-up to Fox, without a doubt yes. Just like we need a back-up to Richardson too.

That said, if there's a LB out there is better than Fox and is on our radar, then there's no reason not to sign them. Unless you have the best player in the world in a particular position, then there is always room for improvement in that position.
