This is my first Bryson book, but i'll definitely be reading more.
I had no idea that this even existed until last Saturday.

I was out last night with some colleagues, one of the girls has read all three.
She proceeded to tell the Pizza Express waitress that they were "ace" and, furthermore "I've been flicking my bean".
Cue much laughter.
I am not ashamed to say I 'LOL'd'
It's erotic fiction.
It seems like every woman on earth is currently reading it, and getting themselves all worked up.
My friend is, as she revealed over pizza.
It was a highly amusing incident (heightened of course by a free bottle of Prosecco).
She was flicking her bean over a 9" Margarita?
Hells teeth, that can't be allowed surely?
That would have been an unexpected, but rather excellent turn of events.
It didn't happen though sadly. She was just informing us of her overall enjoyment of the novels.
Personally, I think they sound ****ing dreadful.
I'm fed up of hearing about 'Mr Grey' and his sex toys.
He should get a job!
If you like detective novels set in Hull have a look for Robert Edrics trilogy Cradle Song, Sirens Song and Swan Song well written and worth a read if you come across them.
Currently reading Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the fallen. Up to book 3. Takes a bit of getting in to due to the sheer weight of characters, but rightly rated one of the top 10 modern fantasy series.
Am on book 2 right now, its a tough one to get into that. Not sure I will be reading all ten in the series! I finished all the Game of Thrones books lately, was a bit disappointed with the last few books, seems like the author had gone into churn them out mode. Best fantasy author is Robin Hobb, all of her stuff is great
I quite liked the later books in Song of Fire and Ice but I know a lot of people didn't.
1st two books of Malazan are hard to get into but Book 3 is a lot easier. There's only a small amount of new characters at the beginning, compared to like everyone in Book 1 and 2. Enjoying them a lot so far though. I really enjoyed 2 when I got into it.

My mates borrowed my copy so I can't check and therefore can't be certain but is that Wrecking Ball Press?
Again, not certain but if memory serves me right they are based in Cavendish Square.
I can't think where that is but just remember your old mate NFU when the book launch comes around. I scrub up quite well and a few free glasses of grog always goes down well.
I'll definitely buy this if you say it's similar to DTV, as I now call it.
Who's the author?
I have book 3 to read anyway so will keep on with the series. I liked the Kruppe character in the first book so am hoping he makes a comeback at some point. You can pick these books up for peanuts on Amazon if anybodies interested in giving them a go. George RR Martin seemed to get a bit obsessed with the Daenerys character in the last few Fire and Ice books without actually moving her much forward in the story. I like all the other characters like Tyrion and Jon Snow, will have to get the next one just to see whether Jon Snow survives, am thinking he will be saved by Melisandre

Love the Song of Ice and Fire series. HBO have actually done a good job bringing them to TV. Gotta love the sexposition that they do.
All I want to say is R+L=J.
I haven't read Malazan. Sounds like something I would get into.
Another one in this vein is Joe Abercrombie's First Law trilogy (The Blade Itself, Before They are Hanged, Last Argument of Kings). Read those recently and recommend them.
