Spain looked back to their best in extra time last night but for parts of the game looked second best to the Portugese. I'd expect the Germans to win tonight so a Spain V Germany final, tough one to call.
I'm rooting for the Italians and Balotelli tonight, think they have a near impossible job but going to have a little bet on the match result rather than 90 mins with mad Mario to score anytime
Forza Italia! Just need them to win in 90 now but can''t see it still, think they will need to score again
Goal number 2 for Supermario, might get a bit more respect off people now, the kid is a great player! Still not convinced I will get my Italy bet in the Germans will come back
Germany 3-2 @. 40/1 That bloody Jinxed them. This must be bet 11 or 12 and not a sniff of a win. Bloody euros, I knew I shouldn't have have watched any of it xx
Does anyone want to talk to me about Germany now? Chazz? No? Turns out they're human like the rest of us doesn't it, and not the next footballing powerhouse, comparable to Spain and great teams of the past after all.
Don't get too big for your boots sunshine, you're the one on here doubting superMario, got your card marked laddo!
Sorry but I took some right abuse for saying Germany weren't as good as Spain and were comparable to the likes of England, Italy, Portugal and France. I aren't going to let it go now they're knocked out. I've responded to your Balotelli comment on the other thread. I won't repeat it again but I think it was perfectly reasonable to doubt him after 4 anonymous games and a very average season.
Chillout dude, you seem to take it a bit seriously, just a bit of banter lad. We all get things wrong no need to get upset.
Spain v. Portugal was a shocking game. Never even made the dire stage. Thankfully the pens gave the game some gravitas. Germany v. Italy was a shock result but in the end Italy were well worth the win and it should have been more. Makes Englands result looks much better in the cold light of day. What happened to the Germans though ? They had the longest break between qtr & semi final and yet look tired. What price the spaghetti heads and Ballotelli now ? PL and Euro champion within 2 months. Not bad at all, if it so happens that is.
The Germans got their tactics all wrong, i reckon. They didn't play their natural game, but instead set up to try to stop Italy. Italy neutralised everything Schweinsteiger, Podolski, Ozil & Kroos had to offer. They were never in the game until the second half. Italy's defence is, and always will be one of the best in international football, and down the other end they were trying to walk it in the net. It should have been more, but they were far too greedy. Two great goals from Balotelli.
Thats what the Italians are called in some circles. Agreed. But i would say that the defending for the header(1st goal) was poor though.
your a hard man to please if you think 17 goals and a premier league winners medal is an average season, luckily i backed him at 22/1 to be the golden boot winner so one more will do nicely on sunday
Am rooting for Italy in the final, hope they burst Spains bubble. All this tiki-taka football does get a bit much to watch sometimes even if it is very effective. Hate seeing teams playing with no strikers plus we all hate Fabregas don't we. Backed Pirlo to be player of tournament as he was still 4/6 today when I looked, I can't see anybody else getting it unless Balotelli is on fire again in the final
I'm very surprised to hear he scored 17 goals. Obviously I'm not a Man City fan so never watched him closely but from the highlights I saw every week he hardly seemed to do anything for months at a time and the fireworks/bib/grass allergy and other such nonsense seemed to be more common than anything impressive on the pitch. The one thing that impressed me was his goal against United where he placed it really nicely at about 90 degrees to his body. I don't mind who wins to be honest, Italy have really surprised me because I didn't think they were that great before the tournament or against us really, but you can't argue with their results and they seem to have an air of Spain about them in that they have a midfield packed with ball-playing quality. I think this tournament has shown that you can go a long way with a strong passing midfield. I think Germany, Portugal, ourselves and France probably have better attakcers than Italy, and Spain don't have any attackers but their midfields are so strong that they just dominate games completely. People say how far England are from being a top side but Italy came out of nowhere in this tournament and have looked very impressive.
Englands effort in taking Italy to pens is looking a lot better now given what the Italians have gone and done since. I think the game tomorrow could go either way.
