Snitches get stitches.

Though in this case I'll stitch you a nice little cardigan for getting rid of that ****...

Bout time, I'd like him/her to post that comment in the "paying LFC fans" forum and see how far he/she would get. <ok>

He really took wumming to a new level though. A Wum prepared to PAY on to forums us cheap feckers wouldn't! Lol.

Of course in that world he was also King of Narnia, rode a unicorn and had sex with women.

How of all things was that the tipping point btw? haha.

Christ: when you say it like that, maybe he DID pay & was enraged that us irreverent buggers actually thought his fool proof cover story was the very proof we thought he was a Wum.

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...wage-war-for-gylfi-sigurdsson-91466-31276659/

According to this, Spurs will double Gylfi's money to £60.000 a week. Which sounds about right considering there salary cap of £70,000

Considering the transfer fee is not astronomical, this seems to me like a clear lack of ambition from our club, we can't match a salary of £60.000 for a highly rated young player? Why not? After the increase in Sky and BT revenue and the new kit deal etc, what is going on here?

Agree Baz especially as you think they would be backing BR from the off. I realise the wages seem high for a 22 year old but people have to remember the top prem earners Yaya etc will be on 3 or 4 times that. Hopefully we are still in for him but if we can't match Spurs for wages I will be worried.

Is it really though? I really don't care if we sign him or not, we should be targeting better players and for different positions.

I agree. Also, £60,000 a week for a 22 year old is a bit OTT. If after 18 months he's deemed a failure we've got to try and shift him to a club who are willing to pay more (players don't move for less money, esp. 24/25 year olds)

Who in their right mind is going to buy a player with a poor reputation and pay them £65-75k a week??

But that's a gamble you take with any single player you sign. The simple fact is just because LFC want to build a "young" squad doesn't mean it can be done on the cheap. If we want to get the best young talent we still have to pay. Whilst I agree a figure of 70 thou a week is extreme nobody actually knows what the figure is and what we do know is that BR knows this lad so surely wouldn't be going for him if he didn't rate him highly. This kid isn't going to win leagues on his own but who exactly will? He's 22 with a big future ahead of him (better than Henderson IMO and we paid an extra 8 mill for him). No young player is ever going to be a guaranteed star of the future but the fact that we might miss out on one of Rodgers main targets is worrying as he's only been in the job 5 minutes.

As I said above....I'd much rather we were paying those wages to a young rising star like Siggy than paying bloody Aquilani or Joe Cole to play for other clubs <ok> now THAT makes no sense whatsoever.

I find it ironic that he was going to swansea for a smaller fee and probably alot less wages than are being offered. This was also on the basis he wanted to play for BR.

So what has changed other than money on the table?Sounds like the agent is attempting to get a chunk of money.

Bear in mind last time we signed an up and coming player that did the business in half a season, we paid 35mil.Maybe the owners are being cautious this time around.

Lomdon seems to have a bigger pull for overseasa players aswell which may also effect his decision.

That's just something us northern monkeys have to put up with <ok>
