Lomdon seems to have a bigger pull for overseasa players aswell which may also effect his decision.
That's just something us northern monkeys have to put up with![]()
I wonder if the 'London Allowance' is factored into his wages offer.

**** and die you ****. 96 was not enough.
Oh so real lfc supporters can slag off paying lfc members can they?
Like I said, you and a few others on here are **** ****s and I hope you die soon. 96 was not enough.
Pity he went nuclear, I would have so like to taunt him some more ;-)
To talk honestly about the membership of the LFC.TV forum, I suspect that is is full of overseas fans, much like the ones who respond to all the bollox transfer rumours on Caughtoffside with "This is a great signing for us, I can't wait to see him play"
Or, we sign him, pay him £60.000 to match Spurs. He performs brilliantly for Liverpool and as he approaches his peak his form and reputation continue to improve. Some club with more cash than sense come in and over 38.5 million.
if Rodgers came to the club and said to the Board, get Gylfi, the lad is exacly what we need, he is a bit special. Then they should get it done. Simple as.

A rational comment from a spurs fan, bloody hell![]()

Seems the most likely scenario, perhaps he has had a change of heart and decided he is not of correct quality for a top four finish. We have not heard a single quote from Rodgers or any one associated with the club, so, fook knows what's going on, it's pure speculation at present.
For any one who is bored of chatting about Gylfi, here are some more potential targets.

Lescott for Agger anyone? No thanks.
As a spurs fan I'd have thought that the stories of him joining us are a pile of ****e put about by bored sports 'journalists' desperate to fill space and his agent desperate to make money...there is not a hope in hell he's coming to us. I hope I'm wrong, I saw him play at the Lane for Swansea and he was very good. I just can not believe that he has chosen to chose a club with no manager, no coaching staff and who are likely to lose 3 important players like Modric, VDV and Adebayor or that Liverpool who spent £20m on Downing and another £20m on Henderson cac't match our wage structure.
If we were about to get a top manager I'd get it but AVB?
The only answer is
a) it's all a big pile of steaming ****e
or
b) the lad is a bit on the simple side

.... yer teams ****...carrolls a donkey....Downing is a joke....Yer all deluded .... wot appened to the King???????

News just in that Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan have both left Tottenham.
How can a player favour signing for a club with no management at all?
There's an international financial crisis, nations run the risk of bankruptcy, yet in the cloistered world of football fandom we complain because our club might not want to throw a small fortune at a decent, but by no means sensational, player.
Our owners are not oil-rich sugar daddies, they have to run the club as a viable business. It seems understandable to me that in the current climate they will be looking for value for money and waiting to see how the economic crisis sorts itself out. We don't want to go back to the debt-ridden state we were in under Laurel and Hardy.
Anyway, as has been pointed out, maybe BR doesn't want him that badly.
Nowt wrong with a bit of sensible.Ok that all sounds very sensible Saint...however...they it also sounds like just the kind of excuses the last lot (or Kenwright or The Venkys) would say. What we DO know as fact is that we now have in place a new TV deal AND a big new kit deal. So income has increased since they came in and yet transfer spend in Jan was nothing and nothing so far in the summer either (fair play as there's loads of time left...but the season did end 5 weeks ago). This isn't a world transfer record we're breaking its a player costing 8mill. If we can't afford that then I'll be worried. If however BR would rather spend the cash elsewhere fair enough but if the club is refusing to finance the first player he asks for then he's going to have a bigger job ahead of him than any of us realised.
Ahh, the megalithic mind that is 'totsfan'. He sums himself up well with the last word of the above quote.News just in that Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan have both left Tottenham.

You may be right, Billy- but we don't know that they've refused to finance the purchase, or on what grounds. For all we know Rodgers himself might have shied away from the player's demands when they became apparent. For all we know we might still be in the running.
The thing is we don't know anything for certain, so I'll with-hold my criticism until I see something meriting it.
and I know you're correct (hence why all my posts are scattered with ifs and maybes). Its probably because I've been getting the blame from friends and family for turning optimistic when Kenny arrived and I'm traditionally the eternal pessimist when it comes to LFC over the past decade or so
just been reading back and wow what a kunt in Redux you boys found...dont ban him...reel him in and verbally batter him everytime your bored...sad comments...even im not that much of a twat!

A true twat .. He deserved that ban because what he said was down right harsh. Makes me sick
He's not banned Wigger,if he was it would say so on his profile.
