Latest interview seems to suggest that the deal is on the verge of collapse. More good news! http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...epares-to-stay-at-ajax-as-tottenham-move-hits
if it's the difference between Jan vertonghen and no J.V we should just stump up. if he is free next year we defo wont be able to sign him for all the competition.
I love the bullshit reports on goal.com It's such a pleasure reading the muppets who comment at the bottom. There's always a cracker from some twat with less brain cells than Katie Price.
It seems, in a nutshell, that he's prepared to see out the last year of his contract, and leave on a free. Unless he's playing high stakes " call my bluff" with Ajax.
which come from SSN. I know who I trust more... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7842314/?
That article carries extracts of the same interview given to algemeen dagblad. However, it only has limited extracts, in the more comprehensive version, he also says, " the way things are looking, I'll still be at Ajax on July 2nd. I'm hoping for a solution, but I'm not expecting one"
How about this: On July 1st, Vertonghen just happens to be visiting London and is picked up from the airport ibLevy, driven to White Hart Lane and shown around and introduced to the team...and then we ring Ajax, say we have Vertonghen, and tell them to sell up. Not sure where I got that idea from...
The Independent have gone all out with yesterday's quotes and the same bloody story, whereas De Boer says that a deal is very close, according to Goal.com. So no bloody news at all, basically.
he better not end up being **** for us after how we have all anticipated his arrival and are still waiting and even managed to dedicate a few articles to him!
14:50 FOOTBALL Tottenham's hopes of signing Belgium defender Jan Vertonghen are fading due to a clause in his Ajax contract. Vertonghen is entitled to 15% of the agreed transfer deal under the terms of his deal with the Dutch champions. Ajax have indicated their reluctance to honour the clause - so he is expecting to stay in Amsterdam. He tells Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad: "This is a shame." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/18605806
ive spent far too much energy with this Verty saga..i officially give up until i see him in a Spurs shirt..the guy will not be mentioned by me!
This fiasco has gone on so long i'm surprised we haven't seen reports linking him to a move FROM Spurs
