stupid post and you know it. he has every right to a holiday. the world does not revolve around norwich city and if you think he hasn't spent the last two weeks 'concentrating' on city then its an even more stupid comment than i'm giving it credit!

Calm down Supers, you don't want to be falling out with fellow posters. If you read my post again, the point I was making was that it SEEMED he had been away on holiday a long time even though he hasn't been. Of course he should go away on holiday to re-charge his batteries, especially after the season he's just had with Brum. I also doubt that it has been much of a 'holiday' for him anyway <ok>

Its about time you stopped the abuse young man. We've had a falling out in the past and if you keep using language like that we will have another one.
If you disagree with me then say so, I enjoy the debate, but leave the "stupid" out of it.

What "massive" transfers have gone down since Hughton has been away

Nothing of note, we've got plenty of time

I'd rather have a fresh, recharged manager than one that is tired and pissed off before the season has even begun

    This is a non-issue.

I've kept relatively quiet on the subject but I believe holt will stay and I'll welcome him with open arms

The way people have told him "good riddance" and "sell him, he'll be a bad influence" etc has been waaay over the top, if you read the pinkun right now you'd be forgiven for thinking grant holt played for Ipswich for 20 years.

It's money, it's only ever been about money, it's very simple and all the other side BS (wants a shot at a bigger club, pissed off he missed out on England etc) is just hearsay and bollocks. It's always been and always has been about his agent and money.

i'll offer my apologies for the wording of my post redruth <ok>

i'm just getting a bit fed up with hearing and reading fans' who are so impatient. this notion that hughton should have sorted things with holt and made some signings before he 'goes on holiday' or that he shouldn't even have one, as i've heard from numerous people now, is really grating.

Let's just sit back and wait till HUghton returns to pick up the reigns in helping us to be a stronger team than we were last season - I'm quite sure he'll be back next week. I'm sure he has targets in mind and after resolving the GH issue, I would like to see some extra cover at both both FB (would love to see Naughton sign for us, but feel he'll go elsewhere for more money!!) and CB, as well as a winger as back up for EB and AP. Also if GH does leave, then we'll need a replacement, though if we can keep JV fit, he could fill GH's boots. <ok>

Apology accepted. I am impatient. Just my nature. Last year everything was nearly done and dusted by now but we have Hertha Berlin in less than 4 weeks and don't even know if our star striker is staying or going. Its not just Holt either. I do envisage a tougher season this year and you are right when you say 17th will do. But I think we will need additions to occupy that position.

To be honest mate that's why I, and a few other regulars from what I can gather, tend to take forum talk with a pinch of salt at this time of year, it being Silly Season and all that. If stuff on here gets you so irate and winds you up so much to read then maybe try to tear yourself away from it for a bit, at least until there is something to actually talk about - the world will keep turning <ok>

i have been to be fair! this is by its very nature a dull period of the football calendar. i don't know for sure but i'd guess that june is the month where pretty much nothing of note happens at club level as players and staff are away on holidays and international tournaments take precedent. its almost always like this - that's why i don't understand the clamour for 'signings' etc.

the manager will have a list as long as your arm of targets and the wheels will be in motion, even if you don't know about it yet <ok>

I agree this is a non-issue, Hughton is back to work this week so things will start happening and I expect this to be the first item of business somebody else commented

"To replace him (Holt) would cost 8m+, to keep him 1m+. Let me get my abacus out... "

I think Hughton will be able to persuade McNally

£1m versus a share in the new TV money pot which is much higher - if you put it that way, on paper, it's a no-brainer.
