Who needs goal line technology. We should just stick extra refs on the line to make sure <whistle>

Stop Pirlo playing and we could win this.

Let him have the ball and we'll suffer.

Just needs JT to press Balotelli's buttons and you could see them self destruct

I do worry that our reluctance to press the ball in midfield will cost us against opponents of his class. Also, if we're going to try and play on the break then surely the pace of Walcott would be invaluable and a better bet than Milner who runs like he has a piano on his back.

At the minute we are extremely difficult to break down and with the way Gerrard is crossing the ball at the minute i would fancy us to get a goal from a set peice

    JUST DONT PLAY MILNER

milner gives us better shape though, and bringing on walcott changes a game- something milner doesnt.

Milner doesnt do anything. If he touches the ball he will give it away, if he is defending he will give a free kick away. He hasnt done anything all tournement. When Rooney was through and the defender got back he passed to Milner who completely scuffed his shot. Had that have been Gerrard he probably would have scored but he defo would have at least tested the keeper

2 poor teams tonight, neither really worthy of being in the semis but that's the luck of the draw. Who fancies who for the semis, Portugul, Germany, Spain and I'm afraid Italy for me. I just have a feeling England will lose to a dodgy goal or sending off on Blatters orders!

    Cech was quality.

    I disagree.

Portugal have Moutinho, Nani, Pepe, Alves and Coentrao who would all get into the England side.

Veloso (albeit he had a shocker today), Perreira and Postiga are no slouches either.

While yes they are some very good players it doesnt make them a good team

Moutinho is probably good enough, but wouldnt push out Parker or Gerrard (though yes they are older). Alves im not convinced about at all. And Coentrao is sheer class, though in Ashley Cole we have the greatest LB in the world.

To be fair, Portugal did survive the group of death, so only fair they had a decent quarter-final draw.

I've got a horrible feeling Greece will shock Germany and we'll miss out a nice semi (oops pardon!) by going out on penos to Italy...can't see it being anything other than penos really considering the similarity of the two teams.

Barotteli (or however you spell his name but you get the gist) will score that's for sure!

This pic shows why Balotelli will never achieve his undoubted potential

He just isnt all there mentally and isnt a team player. What a waste of a talent

the stories of him like dressing up as santa claus handing out money and just 'stopping off' to use a schools toilet, as well as taking back to school and truant and confronting the bullies is just great fun to read about.

On another note, what a dire match.

If anyone told you some of the stories about Balotelli you would never in a million years believe there is any truth in it, But with Balotelli you always think that is possibly true. He is completely un predictable
