Agree Wrightyboy83 - that all keepers make mistakes, Kenny had a phenomenal season in the championship. He made mistakes last season, but lots of goals were down to defensive errors, for instance Fulham away (ironically) Johnson and Zamora ripped our defence apart..........
Green isn't a massive leap forward for me in goal keeping terms from Kenny........
Hopefully we keep Kenny and both keepers put in superb performances, fighting for the No 1 position................

If you improve the 1st team, you improve the squad too.
Should we buy a keeper whos not better than Green but better than Murphy. That would improve the squad but would be a waste.

If we spent money on a good CB, Hill becomes a squad player so there is no need for another CB. What were doing now is filling the squad with quantity not quality. Exactly the problem we had before.

I think the quality of back-up will be a lot stronger next season as well as a few better first-choices, in fact quite a few of last season's first-choice players will be down the pecking order and rightly so...

Robert Green has been talking about his impending move to QPR. He said: "I'm delighted to be here. I'm excited about the challenge ahead and hugely encouraged by the direction in which the owners and Mark Hughes are looking to take the club. It's an exciting period for everybody connected to QPR and I cant' wait to get started."

Everyone has talked about the direction the club is going, it is all very positive.

Another keeper that doesn't come for crosses, excellent. Not a massive improvement on Kenny imo.

Cisse is our main goal scorer and maybe our best player! Johnson is better than the other backups for Cisse so GOOD signing.

Bobby, the sad truth is that there's virtually no Keeper in this day and age that's good on the cross. I don't know whats happened to the self-assured Commander of his area, type Keeper of old but these days practically every Goalie could be described as a good shot stopper but bad on the cross.

Just the way it is I'm afraid, Bobby Lad.

So you think we should only buy players better than the first team. Ok let's spend 100 million finding players better than Taarabt, Faulin, Cisse etc. Man you come out with some stupid **** sometimes. Just think before you post stupid stuff!

There are still a few, our own(not your own, paddy) Joe Hart. Would have preferred a keeper with more physical presence than another mighty midget (although I'll probably be told Green is 6ft + now).

Not all fall into the shot stopper bracket, poopster.

Not all of them but other than the top class ones at the Super Clubs, the rest are all pretty much the same. You're probably better off having a Flapper that comes and gets most of them but flaps now and again, thus making him look sh*t but it reality a guy like that will actually save more goals for you in a Season than he'll let in with his howlers.

The extreme example of such a player would be David James. Always came off his line and half the time made a fool out of himself but a lot of the time, unnoticed, he claimed ball that would have been left to his over-worked center-halves to deal with. James is too much in the extreme but I just used him to illustrate my point.

    What you reckon Bobby Lad?

Very happy with this signing. A current england international at qpr!

He is a step up on Kenny in my view. Kenny made several mistakes last season and at one time didnt look like saving anything. I would be interested to see his % shots to saves ratio. Kenny annoyed the hell out of me at times and imo Cerny should have played much more than he did. He was in form.

But anyway, Green is 2 years younger than Kenny and has vast PL experience now. Top signing.

Definitely. Whilst he's fairly sh*t himself, when he was given the opportunity he played well and should have been left the shirt until he (inevitably) started fu*king up and then let Kenny back in for the last few games.

Exactly. Whats the point in playing a keeper not in form when you have one in form on the bench. Cery played against some of the bigger sides and was awsome - liverpool and arsenal away spring to mind. One stunning save low to his left at liverpool really stands out.
